I moved to Charlotte, NC, at the beginning of the year, but haven't been able to meet many people outside of work. I just started to volunteer at a nearby raptor center to try and meet some people, and I think it's a good start, but I don't feel like it's enough. I'm 2+ years out of college, and I realize I won't have that same kind of population around me again, but I went from knowing 1000+ people there to knowing no one (It doesn't help that I've moved twice since then, always to a place where I don't know anyone :-P).

I was hoping to get some suggestions from the mob. Bars and clubs aren't really my scene when it comes to meeting people, I enjoy being able to actually converse with people without yelling. But other than that, suggest away please :-)

Oh, and I do enjoy sports, being outdoors, movies, photography, and I don't mind trying new things just for kicks.

My son and daughter-in-law, both age 25, moved to the Charlotte, N.C. area for work and school. They are connecting and meeting others through a church group called "Watershed" (see below for a link--groups meet for activities and at other times than just Sunday A.M. services.

Happy relationships!

Find a Bible teaching church that has a good group of young people who share your interests and values in life.
