There is no one ''true" religion because all religions are manmade myths created to make sense of our existence and give us guidance.

Probably neither, assuming that there is a God and all the common themes between them are true then what probably happened is that there was a "true" religion and slowly that religion has been perverted over time by those in power. We see symptoms of that today and in history.

Christianity changed many of it's rules so that the Romans could convert more pagans. Or how the church manipulated individuals to give up their wealth to the church and then go off and die.

The Muslim extremists cite the Koran and Islam as justification for attacking western countries like the US.

Jews...... Well Jews never really had a too much power they've kind of just been oppressed over and over again.

There are other examples of this phenomenon but this seems to prove the point. Events have a way of warping over time as they are retold and this has contributed to the split of these religions. Once in discussing this topic with a friend he mentioned that God has probably abandoned us or at least refuses to deal with us directly, because we have become so screwed up that even when he tries to help it backfires e.g. holy wars. The only thing that would save us is if he were to affect free will.

In all likely-hood every major religion is wrong so the best thing anybody can do is pick a set of morals and stick to them.

it's all a bunch of hooey! let us also not forget that jew, muslim and christian aren't the only sects of religion.
If there is a god I should hope he isn't as prejudice and cruel as to pick and choose a selected few or certian people based on their moral merit.
whatever is "true" we can never know.

plus i'd also like to add in a response for a certian persons answer I read ...it went something along the lines of how muslims and jews kill over religion but christians don't...
may I remind us all of the holocaust and hitler and his facist army...they were very religious...and i don't think hitler was a muslim and he certainly wasn't jewish if you see what i'm getting at...I can also recall the salem witch trials, the kkk..well you guys get the point. Christians point fingers and discriminate and blindly lead some of their followers to do some very horrible things too, no religion is exempt from causing war and terrible things.

The one that is right is the one that does not judge the other and believes that love is the answer. As long as a Jew, a Muslim, or a Christian lives their life in a good and loving way they are all right.

The Jehovah's Witness? The Wiccan?

But seriously...

Getting outside of the right or wrong issue, spirituality over the Dawn of Spirit-oriented-ness has reflected the cultural and personality diversity among those hairy-armed creatures who think they have intelligence.

The primary reason for these religions derives from ancient mysteries and adoration for the mystery of the seasons and the harvests. Some theorize that the ancient God, Jehovah or Yahweh, was first a God of Agriculture after all the initial mandates of Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy are weighed in terms of first-fruits, first-borns and harvest-related presenations to the Divine. And, no one can miss the striking parallels in the eternal death and resurrection of fertility Gods and Goddesses, later embued with ability to impart this seemingly immortality trait to their adherents (relates to the other Question recently regarding an "afterlife").

So, are they all "true"? What is truth? It isn't a fact; it's a perception by an spectator.

So, yes, they are all truthful -- rightness for the individual choosing them, yet not truth for those the religion does not suit or those who do not fit the "average" profile expected for a religion's adherents.

Can they all be regarded as factual--a resounding, no.

From days being extended and prophets giving half-fulfilled prophecies, to visions from Heaven, and to water into wine, I have yet to see or have one of these "miracles" happen.

Amazing coincidences and rare recoveries, yes, miracles, no.

God has given us the ability to reason.

If we REALLY want to know, we will investigate and weigh the evidence. I don't believe the Koran gives the answers of life. The Bible is a time-proven book that has the answers of life -- beginning, now and future. If you read the Old Testament (the Law & the Prophets), it is clear they point to the historical person Jesus. God replaced the Jewish covenant just as the prophet Jeremiah prophesied in Jeremiah 31:31-34. The era of Christianity is here!

Learn about it. We will be judged according to how the Bible teaches us to live. God lets us BE (Jew, Muslim, Christian, athiest, etc.) whatever we want to be, BUT there will be consequences to the direction we take. God loves us enough to reveal His Will to us -- it is our responsibility to seek the TRUTH and make the right decisions.

They are all right - yet all wrong! There is but one God - it does not matter what you call him or what theological believes that you have. The "one true religion" is what you feel in your heart and believe to be true. However, no one of any faith should believe that only others of their faith will go to heaven. God created us all and the world would be in a much better place if there was no "organized religions" but rather true faith and spirituality and love for others - not just human, but animals also and love for the planet which we are destroying. How many wars must be fought in the name of religious differences? We must learn to accept and respect our differences and try to learn a little of others religious beliefs, and we might be surprised to learn that the basic fundamentals have an awful lot in common!

You can have your own opinion on this, but, personally, I believe that all of them are wrong.

However, it all depends on how you were raised. If someone is raised believing that Christianity is the one "true" religion, then he/she will obviously choose Christianity. It's similar to views on oppression and women's rights: If someone is raised by a people who believe that women have no place in society than to bear children, then it makes sense that he/she would strongly believe that women don't deserve to have rights. Sure, logic might argue AGAINST it, but people stick to what they're taught, and that's just how religion and culture is passed down.

So, in short: The answer to this question depends on someone's religious upbringing, since that will most likely influence one's beliefs between one religion and another.

Christianity is the only True religion. Jesus was born and sent to save the world from its sins, and He did this by dying on the Cross. because He did this for humanity, Christianity is the only religion that is truly correct. He is the only way to get into Heaven.

Only God knows. As the creator and author of our world he has given each of us freedom to make choices which impact our lives. If the Christian, Jew or Muslim truly believe in their God, their lives will be filled with peace and love of their fellowmen (non-generic). As a result their lives will be full of blessings through their faithful works. When Jesus returns and we all stand before the judgement seat, the record of our lives will be laid upon the throne of God with Jesus at his right hand to interceed for his believers. If God desires the Jew, Muslim and Christian to be in harmony for eternity, then so be it.
