Rome: Total War
I'm not too fond of any of its expansion packs (Barbarian Invasion, Alexander), but the original is very fun and very addictive. Plus, there are plenty of free mods for the game to add a little spice after you've played the original for a while.
I also like Black & White (and its sequel, unremarkably named Black & White 2) and The Sims 2.

depends on your age..i have a 14 yo boy who likes diablo2, my daughter likes the card games and I like the sims games. plus I know there are alot of websites that you can download video games from like old nintendo and sega games from.
