Nobody has a problem with the soldiers. But a lot people don't think they should have ever been sent to Iraq to begin with.

Unbelievable, isn't it?
We're not there for the oil - hell, after we kicked the Iraqis out of Kuwait, we could have easily just stayed and kept the oil.
And these idiots can't explain Viet Nam or Korea or ElSalvadore with their oil theories either because these countries don't have any oil - just repressed people.
The terrorists have a very clear demand:
Convert to Islam - or die.
I don't like either option and if the war is in Iraq or Afghanistan or anywhere else - it's a hell of a lot better than in our cities and towns.
And, like it or not, sooner or later, we will have to fight these dirt bags - either that or concede to their demand.
The soldiers in Iraq are doing what American soldiers have had to do for over two centuries - fight for our rights and freedoms. Never take them for granted and never be so damned ignorant as to piss and moan about actions and policies that try to guarantee our children won't be fighting these murdering psychos in the future.

Yes they are fighting for us, they are fighting for all of the freedoms given to us. And I have several family members who have been in Iraq or are currently there they all agree that yes we should be there fighting and helping them gain the freedoms that so many here take for granted. This war is NOT about oil, it is about terrorism, and about showing the world that America is not going to take any more terrorist attacks especially on our home soil. We will not just lay down and let everyone walk all over us anymore. I am glad that we finally have a president with enough gumption to stand up and do what is right, what should have been done years ago.
Thank you President Bush, thank you to our troops who risk their lives everyday to keep our freedoms intact. Thank you to the spouses who have been left home to raise their children alone while their husbands/wives are fighting to show other people how wonderful our freedoms are. I would also like to say thank you to the families of those who have lost their loved ones in this war, they should be proud to have had the opportunity to know and love someone as brave and courageous as their loved one was.

Most people are not blaming troops for politicians' mistakes.
When Clinton drop troops in Somalia to capture renegade warlords the Republicans cursed him for it because many troops died out there. They say that wasn't war but that doesn't matter. Those troops died out there for a belief. So any Republican that went against Clinton for that. Might as well had told the troops that they died for no reason. I'm a Libertarian and I don't see how anyone who doesn't support the war automatically don't support the troops. These men are dying because of what they believe and because I'm not for the war, I'd be damned if I won't support are troops. But you can only make those opinions.

Well for me I think the solders are extremely brave and I don't know that I could be that brave to go fight in the war. What I don't agree with is the war itself. I don't see the point in fighting a war even though I know there are reasons.

What people are you talking about here? Americans or Iraq's? I know several people over there and they all say that the Iraq's are very grateful. If its Americans then they are just ignorant. It doesnt matter who is president at this time. The Bill to go over there was signed in 1998 by Clinton to help these people.

655,000 dead Iraqi, 2800 dead Americans, many, many more wounded and deformed on both sides. I think stay the course is no longer an option, we need a new statagy, like get out and let them fight it out among themselves. The Irai should have the right to form what ever kind of government they want and will never except a puppet government set up by the U.S.

I was summed up perfectly yesterday when a lib replied to a question with "war is always wrong". This kind of thinking will destroy our way of life. I do not like war but sometimes it is the best answer. These soldiers defending us do not choose where or what they do. So regardless of what you think of any of the conflicts we are in shut the H**l up and support our troops.

The soldiers are not fighting to protect us, they are fighting because Bush decided they shoudl for some unkonwn reason. If they had never gone to Iraq, americans would actually be safer all over the wrold than if we hadn't gone to Iraq.
