If you loved someone,(you know really loved them) then you wouldn't dump them just because they smoked.
Then what would be the point in calling it love if you dumped the person over a small thing like that?

No. I kept tasting the smoke in his kiss. He would deny it when I would question it. But, when he finally confessed I was already in love with him. I had to accept it. But, he also had to make some concessions. Once we were married and bought our first home, he didn't smoke in the house EVER! Once the babies came he would not smoke in their presents or in the car. The hardest part though, was not being able to enjoy kissing him. Which to this day...is very few and far between. Though he takes good care of his teeth and uses mouth wash -it makes no difference -I can still taste it and it bothers me a lot. But, when you love someone you let some things go...that was one I let go.

Yes, before you get too attached. Tell them when they fully quit maybe the relationship can be activated again. If you want to practice being miserable, join the Marines. I smoked for over 40 years so I know it is very hard to quit.
Good luck.

My father died of lung cancer due to a lifetime of smoking. I never want to deal with that crap again. After my father's death I vowed NEVER to be with anyone who smoked- Lucky for my husband he quit about 8 months before I met him. Had he been a smoker I would have ended it then and there. It's just not negotiable for me... It's disgusting, smells bad, tastes bad, makes you and everything around you wreak... on top of that it can kill you... nuff said!

If that ever came to pass, I would kick her to the curb in a heartbeat.

Realistically, though, it takes much more time to fall in love than any smoker could go without having a butt.

True love (not the infatuation and lust that most people call love) would accept them for who they are and move on. People change and are quite capable of quitting smoking for various reasons, my husband did...AFTER I married him.

I don't believe in the widely understood "love", but no, I wouldn't dump them.

no.. love isn't like that.. you shouldn't dump a person just because he/she isn't at all the perfect one for your eyes.. if there is something wrong with him/her you should be able to accept that.. and if its something thats bad for her/his health.. be the to tell her about it.. make him/her understand in such a way where in he/she won't get offended..

No I wouldn't dump him or her, but would ask why him or her didn't say something before hand.
