You do not have to unless you want to. You can buy FlashMemory for it to store songs. It requires an SDMicroCard. You can get SanDisk(best brand) for about $40 for 1GB of space. What I use is a card reader($20), you just put your SDMicroCard into the Card Reader and plug it into the USB on your computer then just drag and drop Music/Photos.. Its very simple. Hope this helps.

I think you gotta hook ur phone up to ur comp and then send the music in ur phone, not sure, it should say it in the manual
