well me and my WIFE anre vets of this kind of relationship,im in the navy and for the first year of our relationship i only saw her for about a months worth of time.so we know how you feel we talked ALOT on the phone, you could also use the im service to get video too. it was hard for both of us especially to be 100% faithful and we spent alot of lonley nights crying ourselves to sleep BUT it was all woth it if you love him enough it will work but only time will tell dont decide if your going to try jus give it a chance and let love take its course.dont let your imagination run wild trust him! trust is key in this kind of relationship.also try writinh snail mail and spray perfume on the letter kiss it with lipstick include lots of current pics, i know those saved my life in boot camp.and remind him often that you love him, need him, and most of all that you want him and no-one else!

It's easy. Be faithful, honest, and communicate. I work a job where I am away for 2 weeks out of every month. Quite often I will be away for 6 weeks at a time. My GF and I love each other a great deal and she understands that this is what my work entails. We make sure to enjoy our time together and we keep in touch when I am gone. From time to time we'll play online games together or watch TV together over the phone. But the reason it works so well is because we both trust each other. She knows that I'm not up to any funny business when I'm gone and I know the same about her. It makes the situation soooo much easier if you both can have faith in each other.

Also, it makes a huge difference if your relationship is based on something more than a physical attraction; so make sure that you both have real substance in your relationship.

Good Luck.

Long distance relationship is not easy, however, if the relationship itself is strong enough and you both realize what you want in your life, it is not that hard and you will all work it through sooner or later. I, myself, had this kind of experience before. I worked in overseas for two years while my boy friend stayed here, we didn't see each other as often as you do, but we did spend a lot of time on phones. I moved back here after two years.
As long as you both know what the other is the one you would like to spend the rest of your life together, this relationship will work out by itself. Have some faith. Good Luck!!

if you both really want it to work then it should work, as long as you have a timetable for when he will be home for good. I live and work overseas myself and only see my wife every 3 to 4 mths, but she knows i will be home for good soon. I also make it a point to call just about everyday if only for a few mins.

So you need to find out is how long will he be overseas, and are you willing to accept that.

I wish I could answer this, but I had to say something, as just because devilqueen cannot make a ldr last, does not make it impossible for everyone...

I'm in one, not overseas, but I moved to Florida, and my fiance is in NY. I see her maybe twice a year, but we talk everyday on the phone, and stuff like that. It is hard, I won't lie, but if it's that important to both, you find ways to make it last, we've been together about 15months now, both still very faithfull, and happy with each other. She is planning on moving down here for school, and I plan to move to NC, a little closer to in the middle, as I have family and friends in NY as well.

It all depends on who you and he are, if it really is meant to be, you guys will find a way, I wish you nothing but happiness and good luck with this.

Honey..it's not an easy thing to do.Just think how all these Military family and loved ones get through every day.Write a lot of letter's.If he has a computer keep in touch daily with the messenger. My niece is engaged to a sailor in Irack. If she can do it ..so can you. It's up to you to make this decision.

both people have to be willing to make it work, and make it so its fair to both of you. if one's lacking in the area of effort, it'll all fall apart.
