everyone judges by first opinon depending on looks. it's proven and it's just human nature. i took some counseling training and had to read all about peoples appearance and read their body language, blah blah blah. the problem is everyone, by nature, are judgemental. they try to read a book by it's cover, hense the saying. it's unfortunate. the key to it is to overcome that and get to know the person.

Yes. People, when in their childhood, is taught what is correct, what is the norm and what is good.

Eventually, when these people get to meet other people who do not conform to what is correct, norm or good, they will judge them automatically.

People will also attached certain ideas to a certain group after a couple of incidents concerning that group.

For example, when they see most asians play PC games, people will attached to them that ALL asias are geeks or nerds.

When a certain school has a long time rival against another school is NCAA, students from these school think that their rivals are complete @$$holes.

People do judge people to what they think is right and what is good. People will critize others especially when they think they are better than them.

You can only prevent judgement when there is social acceptance.

I think everyone judges. Doesn't matter if it's looks, actions OR race. It depends on what we DO with those judgments that reveals whether or not we're "judgmental" or an individual who can "accept" those things that we judge as different from us and treat that person with respect anyway.

I would not say most but A LOT of people do. Probably maybe half.

I mean, a lot of people judge by how people dress, and with their race, and looks. That kind of thing, and even their annual income. If they are rich, average, or poor.

Yes, most do judge based on looks. The difference is some people are smart enough to not let thier initial reaction to a persons appearance (sex, gender, etc.) determine how they treat that person.

As wounded humans beings we are judging people consciously, or unconsciously all of the time because we feel incomplete as humans. We have been conditioned this way. Unfortunately, there are many healers and conscious peoples on the planet that are assisting others in healing themselves and therefor offering more unconditional (nonjudgmental love)

Yes.
In ancient times, making a swift determination as to whether the person you were looking at was safe or not had survival value.

As time passed, humans found a vast number of ways to rationalize this basic use of analytic thought+feeling, and factors that had little to do with 'safety' or 'survival' were introduced.

We are not the 'rational animal', we are the 'rationalizing animal'.

To change, we have to get to want to change, and to begin defining what we each believe, to determine which beliefs are functional, and which are toxic.

People judge others PERIOD! No reason to be specific, everyone has different criteria in their head on what they judge by.... money, looks, car, house, wife, husband, etc....

ALL people are judgmental to one degree or another, or you'd never have an original thought in your head!
Making thoughtful judgments, considering the consequences of our actions sets us apart from animals.

all of these mostly by middle and high schoolers. why? i don't but my father said that these people do this because they are afraid of the ones who are different. It is easier to follow than to lead. People want to be popular and aaccepted...sadly that literally comes with a price
