Yes. She needs to feel loved more, you need to do more chores and help more with the kids. Your wife needs a day every week untili she is better just for her. Let her go get a massage or a pedicure. Bring home dinner so she does not have to be a slave to that!! She's too stressed out. Sometimes the depression is so serious that she'll feel like everyone likes the baby but not her. And she will enforce this thought pattern upon herself until that's all she can believe.
There is also an inbalance in her magnesium if she is not nursing add a handful of nuts to every other meal or so. To help get the points back up.
Good Luck!

Yes the hormonal pills and sleep deprivation would cause this. Maybe try to relieve her baby duties so she could get some quality sleep and pamper her with bath products and a salon/spa visit. It's a difficult time when you're so tired. Hang in there and love her anyway.

Did she have these episodes before pregnancy? You seemed to leave that out for some reason. Would be important to determine post partum.

Yes it could, sometimes the different chemical balances during a pregnancy can affect your brain. Women's brains actually shrink during pregnancy, and by nature changes when it gets back to it's normal size...

It could be. Talking about it with her and also support her in going in to a doctor could help her in whatever she's dealing with. The Dr's can check hormone levels and help them to level.
