There are certain things that I close my eyes for. It's usually not a song that is being sung, although I can sink right into some classic Led Zeppelin or Boston. It's usually jazz that I close my eyes for, simply to allow myself to hear without visual distraction, all the subtle
nuances of great jazz. If you don't know what I'm talking about...just close your eyes and listen...

No, you aren't way off... I love closing my eyes and listening to music... it just adds to the experience... at times, I find myself closing my eyes when I type because I'm listening to a great piece of music... hm... like right now.
Sometimes, if the conditions are just right, I can see colors and feel the music stroke my brain! Yeah, call me weird but I freaking love it!

Yes...and yes. When you shut off one sense often the others will work harder so you actually DO get a fuller experience of the music by shutting your eyes, somehow I doubt it would be the same if you plugged your nose, though.

Yep...now you're talking to a musician here....in band I did this a lot, because it made it easier to hear. While I'm just listening to music for fun....well only another music lover gets it, I think :)

No, because I listen to music at work and when I drive. When I drive, some songs just have to be turned up really loud.

You're back!!! We've missed you, Yes it does make it better, I guess when you close your eyes it makes you able to feel what the artist was actually trying to convey when they wrote what you're listening to.
