No effect on Astrology, i bet. They're not playing with a full Tarot deck anyway, you know? It'll serve Astronomy textbook writers well, though, since all those books will have to be amended--and then repurchased.

The demoting of Pluto from a planet status to a planetoid, or whatever the name is, is an advance in the understanding and definition of bodies circling the sun, which is part of the science of astronomy, I doubt that it has much effect on astrology, which is superstition rather than science.

Do you mean astrology or astronomy? Astronomy is the science. Astrology is some pseudoscience. I did not think astrology cared about planets, only constellations. Astronomers have come up with a definition of a planet and Pluto does not fit this definition.

The real problem astronomers are having is this: what defines a planet. There are is no real definition of what a planet is. However what they do feel is that Pluto, instead of really being a planet, is just part of an asteroid belt or something to that effect. This change is helping astronomers to re-evaluate what planets really are.
