Windows has put an antispyware pop up on my computer. about every 30 secs it shows up. I finally down loaded it and it was called "soldier antispyware." after I down loaded it and it scanned my computer, it said I had to pay to clean everything up. I'm not going to pay for it so i took it off my computer. Now, the pop ups are back and I don't know how to get rid of it. The pop ups are in my icon tray ( i think that's what it's called. bottom of my computer by the clock...lol)......and, I can't delete it or stop it, at all. If i don't use my computer and I just have a screen saver up...my computer freezes up and it never done that till this "warning" started showing up. Please, I'm not a computer whiz at all....so, if you understand what I'm saying than I could use your help.
I have my pop up blocker on and it's not stopping it. I don't know what else to do.

You have a virus and no scan is going to remove it,I have been on here for 2 weeks helping people with this,I had it also got it from a profile on myspace.I had to do a system application recovery to get it gone.It over rides your scanners so they will not pick it up,It took out my automatic updates, sound, defaults. email me if you need help.

http://411-spyware.com/remove/trojans/ go to that site read directions and download the removal tool for that..It's a trojan
Also,,spyware removing software WON'T remove it...Discription of what it is >>AntiSpyware Soldier is a rogue anti-spyware program that may install itself onto your computer without your permission. AntiSpyware Soldier may not really detect and remove spyware parasites from your computer, but through a trojan AntiSpyware Soldier may issue false alerts to try to scare you into buying the “full version” of AntiSpyware Soldier. AntiSpyware Soldier may be compared to other rogue anti-spyware, such as BraveSentry, MalwareWipe, SpywareQuake, and Pest Trap.

Windows is NOT giving you that balloon ( or what you call popup) from your systray (what you call icon tray). Windows will never warn you that your computer is infected nor will it try to sell you any program to fix it.

Your computer is seriously infected with the Smitfraud trojan.

The "Your computer is infected" warning is a scam. It is usually caused by the Smitfraud infection. To remove go here:
http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal:_SpyAxe_Removal
and scroll down to:
"S!Ri has written an excellent SmitFraud Removal Tutorial which uses the SmitfraudFix Utility which S!Ri also developed"
for removal tool and information.

And here is another removal tool and procedure to remove Smitfraud:

Good luck.

its not from windows. its a spyware program from a hacker. It causes popups on purpose .Look for the name in add/remove programs. If its there than delete it, if not then go to start, run and type in msconfig in the white box and press enter.Go to the startup tab then find the name and uncheck the box. this will require a restart. A screen will appear after start up.check the white box and you won't see it again.
If that doesn't work then you will have to install a legitimate spyware program(which i recommend anyway).and run it.The free Ad-aware one is the best.

It sounds like you've accidently downloaded adware thats disguising itself as antispyware cleaner. Companies do this to remove competitors adware. It really is despicable that companies do this. But don't worry. Remove the software using add/remove programs and then download a trusted antispyware software like Windows Defender. I'm not pushing their name but just providing you with an application you can trust.
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
If add/remove doesn't remove it completely, run the software anyway and it will get rid of any uncooperative parts. For future reference beware any "free" software you download especially if it doesn't come from a reputable company.

OK, what you do is don't close the pop up- when it comes up, just click on the window you were viewing. Then it stays in the background, thinks it is open, and won't pop up every 30 seconds. After that, just close it every couple of days.

Never click on a popup ad. This is nothing but a worthless program you downloaded. It tells you that your computer has Spyware or Viruses on it and you need to buy the program to remove it. The program is worthless and will remove nothing but money from you bank account.

90% of these adware programs are downloaded on your computer with your approval. Because you fail to read the EULA of programs or files you download.

Check the Add/Remove Programs and see if that program, you download, is listed. If so, remove it. If not in Add/Remove Programs check in All Programs and see if it has an Uninstall link. Once you have the program removed follow this procedure and use the programs listed. If AdAware SE and AVG AS doesn't remove the adware program then use the link(s) at the bottom for removal.

Trojan Removal Procedure.

Removing infections from your computer is never as easy as aquiring them. Malware infections are not meant to be removed, so, it takes TIME and PATIENCE to get rid of them. ONLY RESORT TO A REFORMAT AFTER ALL ELSE FAILS TO REMOVE THE INFECTION.

This procedure works for all Malware. Replace the Ewido and AdAware SE programs with any AntiVirus or AntiSpy program you choose.

Download and Update Ewido (now called the AVG Antispyware). Do not run:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/...

Download AdAware SE and update. Do the setup. Do not run:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ad-aware/

AdAware SE Setup:

1. Select "use custom scanning options" then select "customize". Make sure the following options are enabled: "scan within archives," "scan active processes," "scan registry," "deep scan registry," "scan my IE favorites for banned URLs," "scan my Hosts file."

2. Select the "tweak" option. Under "scanning engine," make sure "unload recognized processes and modules during scan" is enabled. Enable "scan registry for all users instead of current users."

3. Under "cleaning engine" turn on "always try to unload modules…," "during removal unload explorer and IE if necessary," "let windows remove files in use at next restart," and "delete quarantined items after restoring."

4. Use the "select drives and folders to scan" option to ensure that your entire hard drive is scanned (if you have more than one hard drive, scan all of them (of course, do not include floppy and CD/DVD).

TEMPORARILY SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options.

3. On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click "Show hidden files and folders", and clear(uncheck) the "Hide protected operating system files" check box.

IMPORTANT: Files are hidden by Windows for a very good reason. It is not wise to experiment with these files. Unfortunately, to successfully remove modern spyware we must turn this protection off temporarily. Please turn the protection back on when you have finished cleaning your system.

EMPTY INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER CACHE:

1. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options.

2. On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button. Select the Delete all offline content check box in the confirmation dialogue box that appears, click OK. Click OK again.

RESTART IN SAFE MODE:

To do this you need to hold down or repeatedly tap the F8 key while the computer is booting (when the computer is displaying a black screen with white text). When the boot menu appears, use your keyboard arrows to select "Safe Mode."

Safe Mode can look quite ugly. The color may look bad, and all of your desktop icons will be very large. This is normal.

START THE SCAN WITH ADAWARE SE. THEN DO IT WITH EWIDO.

NOTE: Let AdAware complete its scan. Sometimes AdAware will be unable to remove everything that it finds and will prompt to be allowed to try again after restarting. If that happens, when the scan finishes restart immediately and allow the scan to finish.

When the scan and removal are completed REBOOT COMPUTER. This will restart you in normal mode. DON'T FORGET TO RESET HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.

NEW RESTORE POINT:

The RESTORE POINTS may be infected with the Malware and cannot be used.

HERE'S HOW:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click on the System Restore tab.

3. Select the Turn Off System Restore check box, click Apply, then restart your computer.

4. Return to the System Restore Tab and turn System Restore back on.

TO SET A NEW RESTORE POINT:

1. Click the Start button.

2. Point to Programs, then navigate to Accessories, then System Tools, then click System Restore.

3. Choose Create a restore point, and then click Next.

4. In the Restore point description box, type a name for your restore point, and then click Next.

5. Click OK.

NOTE: If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and are unable to access the Internet after removing Malware, there is a command that may fix the problem. It works by resetting the winsock catalogue. Click on Start, then Run and type CMD in the box. Click OK. Type "netsh winsock reset" (no quotes)into the DOS window that appears.

ADDITION INFORMATION ABOUT TROJANS:

There are Trojans that fall into the Smitfraud family. These require the use of a specialized program for removal. Here are two sites that specialize in removing these:
