Every woman and every pregnancy is diffirent. Usually it lasts a couple of months in the first trimester. There are women who are severly affected, even put in bed all day by the nausea.
I personally had to quit my night job and find a day one because the nausea was so horrible and I really needed my sleep. My nausea and vomiting was horrible for the first three months. Then it abaited and actually never totally went away. Some women don't have a moment of nausea.
Some women had morning sickness in the morning. Me....I had it morning noon and night. If affected my life more than the average woman.
What I did for it? Saltine crackers help the stomach settle down. Also gaitoraid is good to keep your electrolites balanced if you are vomiting alot. Keep crackers or some fruit at your bedside and if you wake up during the night nibble a little. If you keep your stomach a bit more settled and keep your blood sugar balanced.
One positive thing about nausea is that it means you have plenty of hormones ragging to keep the pregnancy more viable. Which means less of a chance of miscarrage.
Drink plenty of water. And eat healty. Afterall you are growing a baby inside of you.

They say it should go away by the end of your first trimester. I know people that have had it through their entire pregnancy, but that seems to be rare. Depending on the severity of your morning sickness you can do a number of things to deal with it. Eat a lot of carbohydrates, crackers, bread, rice, etc. Try to eat as soon after waking up as possible. Keep crackers next to your bed and eat a few before you even get up. Also talk to your OB there are medicines that can be prescribed that help a lot, but there are side effects .
My personal experience with my second child was bad. I threw up all day long just about every day for 2 months. I was given Phenergan which makes you very drowsy, but I threw that up, and when I did keep it down, I couldn't keep my eyes open at work. Then I was given a drug called Zofran which is commonly prescribed to chemo patients. That worked like a champ, but it causes bad headaches and constipation.
Talk to your doctor if the crackers don't work, there are drugs that do! Best of luck!

Holy cow! My morning sickness was morning, afternoon, evening, and night for 9 months!!! I was hospitalized multiple times, and on medication because of how severe it was. As soon as my son was born, I felt so much better! It really affected my daily life. I missed a lot of work. Fortunately, morning sickness doesn't normally last like that. Usually it's only for the first trimester, and can be controlled with eating salty crackers, sprite, mild things. Just take it easy, and eat small portions. Don't eat any weird food. But if you are sick and the only thing you can keep down is junk food, that's better than nothing. My dr. said that if the only thing I can keep down is coke, do it! It's got calories and will keep me somewhat hydrated. Might not be nutritious, but better than nothing!
Good luck!

I was nauseous all day every day for the first 3 months. I couldn't eat much of anything, mostly plain bland stuff, except after I would get sick then I would have a small window of opportunity to eat and not feel sick. My doctor gave me a prenatal vitamin that had B6 and that helped a lot. It changed my daily life because even though I was nauseous all day, I never knew if I would actually get sick or not, so I was always on edge for that reason. And not being able to eat regular food changes your daily life as well. But, it was all worth it. Plus it kept me from gaining a lot of extra weight in my early pregnancy.

Yes, My morning sickness with the first child did effect my life. I was unable to go to work, food smells, perfume, tooth paste, car exhaust... everything was a trigger. Worse than having the flu.
I was off work for three weeks, which was the worst of it, then mild upset stomach for a few more weeks.
I sipped gator aid and nibbled crackers. Still basically have to ride it out.
Can't say how long yours will last. Some girls carry on as usual, others just have a harder time with this.

It depends on the woman. I've met some who only had morning sickness during their first trimester (for about 3 months) and I've heard of some having it the whole pregnancy!
I have two children but luckily I never really had morning sickness. I sometimes got nauseous but as soon as I ate something I felt better. If you get it first thing in the am try putting some crackers next to your bed to snack on before you get up and if it hits throughout the day try to carry a light snack with you in your purse. Remember it won't last forever and once you have your baby you won't even remember it! Congrats and good luck!

Morning sickness varies from woman to woman. I'm currently preggo with my Fourth child. This pregnancy I dealt with the morning sickness up to 20-21 wks. The last three only last 2-3 months. So unfortunately, you can't compare your pregnancy with someone elses or any pregnancy. Each pregnancy is so different. This pregnancy, I've dealt with so many issues, severe morning sickness, severe migraines, and a rash that's associated with this pregnancy. A rash that will not go away until after I deliver. With the other 3 pregnancies never had this. So again, can't compare.
Try crackers, lemon (sprinkled with a little salt) gave me some relief. However my Dr. had to prescribe me zofran, it's heaven sent. It really helped me. Good luck!

morning sickness usually only lasts the first trimester (3, sometimes 4 months)... but everyone is different. I had it all throughout my pregnancy. There's not much, really, to do for it. Some think crackers help- I never thought they did. But make sure you are drinking enough water and try to stay away from acidic type foods. I enjoyed mashed potatoes!

It depends. Most people will tell you it last 3/4 months. Unfortunately, mine lasted the entire pregnancy for all 3 of my children. Until the last one they were not able to control it. Anyway they found a medication that wont harm the baby called phenergan. This worked beautifully. I'm not saying you will need it most wont, but just wanted to pass this on in case you need it. Otherwise life is affected by this vomiting and nausea. Good luck.
I just noticed that someone told you phenergan made her sleepy. It does at first. but it does go away. The zofran did not work for me. Everyones different. I hope you feel better soon.

Since every pregnancy is different so is every case of "morning" sickness. Sometimes it lasts all day, sometimes it's only for a couple of weeks. Mine was 24/7 for the entire third month of my pregnancy. Drinking weak tea and eating saltine crackers when the your stomach begins to "roll" helps, if it is really severe your doctor can prescribe anti nausea medicine
