Something tells me that this year is the year for the cavs. If Lebron's supporting cast can step it up, they will be a stron contender for the title. If Gooden and Hughes have strong years, Lebron won't feel the burden of carrying the whole team on his shoulders. Thus, I have a feeling that the cavs will the best team in the NBA this year

In the west I will say the Phoenix Suns. With Amare coming back 100% they will be a great team...just remember what they did without him last year and remember what they did to San Antonio just falling short but they had no answer for Amare as really nobody does. Now the team in the east I believe is the Chicago Bulls....With the addidtion of Ben Wallace they have a solid defense upfront and that will be able to get hinrich out in transition looking for gordon behind the arc for some 3's So I pick Suns and bulls in the finals suns in 6 games

Realistically, the Dallas Mavericks easily have the deepest team with the most talent in the West and they should repeat.
In the East I would say probably the Chicago Bulls this year. Adding Big Ben should be the deciding factor this year for the return of the Bulls.

LeBron James is the best player but he needs a good support player like when Michael Jordan had Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant. San Antonio and Miami look like the teams to beat. Watch out for Dallas and Phoenix as well.

The best team in the NBA is the team with the best record and/or the team that wins the championship.

If Amare can remain healthy, and produce the ways he did before he got injured, thenI have to say the Suns would be the best team in the NBA. If he can't, however, I have to give it to the Spurs, simply because they play so incredibly together that their offense justs flows.

everyone who doesn't know anything about basketball is saying heat, because they won the championships last season. i personally think that the suns should be the best or one of the best teams this upcoming season. because with nash, marion, plus amare back, they'll be unstoppable. the spurs should be fairly good also, even though they did poorly last season. the competition in the west is really tough.
