I would think that would be insulting as if they are saying to the people you are incapable of taking care of your own. What do you think about this?

I don't think that's the intent at all. The issue is that in Africa, there's an AIDS crisis right now. Children are being orphaned by the hundreds of thousands. Most of those children have nowhere to go, and noone to take care of them, because literally their entire families are dead, or totally impovrished. In the case of many African nations, it's true there is no one there to take care of children.

I think your issue here is with race and racism. My point is that children are put up for adoption, no matter their race because their parents are incapable of raising them, either because of death, or because of age or drug dependency or any number of reasons.

My adoptive parents are being no more condescending in adopting me from my birth parents (16 and 18 years old respectively) than Madonna is in adopting a child of another race.

There are many people who adopt children of a different race. My husband and I are white and our adopted daughter is Hispanic. Unfortunately most children who are waiting to be adopted are minorities, while most adoptive parents are white. Children's Services would prefer placing children with parents of the same race, but most times it just isn't possible. Btw, when were were going through parenting classes as part of the approval process, we were with 9 other couples, all white. Besides, what difference does it make if the child and adoptive parents are of different races? As long as the child is placed with a family who will love them unconditionally, that is what's important.

My only problem with celebrities adopting any children is so many "normal" people would like to adopt and take care of the children and can't get children but these celebrities can buy children and pass them off to nannies to raise them.

I comprehend what you're asserting. component of the subject is that the industry of adoption objectives particular families (i.e. center type white families) for many adoptions. that's merely now transforming into extremely of a concern for them to attempt and adventure babies with families from a similar ethnic background via fact quite some analyze have shown that this makes for the excellent transition for the baby and young ones who're no longer accompanied interracially usual do no longer strengthen the undemanding matters that are got here upon between babies who're accompanied interracially. i think of that maximum persons nevertheless do prefer to undertake babies that look like them and maximum prefer to undertake toddlers, the subject is that maximum people who undertake are white and healthful white toddlers are lots greater sturdy to return by way of interior the U. S.. It takes a loooong time. So, quite some them will undertake interracially. additionally, there are lots of people who prefer to undertake interracially. i do no longer think of there is something incorrect with that, I merely wish that folk who do that are completely conscious of all the social changes that contain that undertaking and need them success!

I don't have a problem with it at all as the long as the child is healthy, well taken care of , happy and the people are adopting them for the right reasons and not for publicity.

personally i think it is great that families want to bring other children into their lives, especially knowing that the adoptive parents can provide a much better life than what the child may have had, or i would hope they would provide a better life, thats the point right?

I could and still can't understand why they go to other countrys to do it. We have plenty of kids here in the states who need a home and should come first rather then going around the world to find one.
