That will depend on which state you are applying in...The usual process involves submitting of the application to the county or state school system, which can be usually be done in person or online. Once they receive all required documents including all college transcripts, a determination will be made as to w hat you are eligible to teach, or what your deficiencies are in any particular subject. It may be that they will require you to complete further coursework. (usually it is about 12 hours in a particular subject). Some counties even allow you to teach while in process of completing coursework if you have a temporary certificate. Once you have submitted and cleared the paperwork process, then you are now ready to apply at the school of your choice. Please research the school, before accepting the position. All schools are not made equal. YOu do not want to find yourself in a position where you are stuck for a year in an unhappy or unbearable situation........and sometimes 3 years before you can change schools. I would even recommend calling the school and asking if it is possible to sit in on a few classes. Talk with teachers who work there if it is possible and inquire as to what a typical day is like. Believe me......do not take it for face value.......as I found out the hard way. All schools are not made equal, nor are all school systems. I would also recommend substitute teaching, because first, you get to meet and network with principals, who could later offer you a job, or at least become a good reference for you, and it gives you a chance to see what it is like to work in a particular school, and if you really like working with children. Prepare well for the interview....do the research........there are many potentially asked interview questions that can be found online.......Teaching can be rewarding, but it requires patience, endurance, organization, and a lot of your personal time. I love it!

to teach-which is my major-you need to have a specific area: elementary or secondary. elementary which is 1st grade -8th grade; secondary is 9-12th grade as well as a major for ex. mine is history with a minor in biology in secondary education. get the idea? you need to learn how to speak english fluent, be good in different areas such as math, science, history, geography, music, etc. my degree required 4 years of going to a university where you take classes based upon your specific major and what kind of education you want to do. also, in the US you need to take like 2years of foreign language for secondary education, math, science classes, history classes-and whatever else fits your profile.you will need to take a test to become a teacher, also your last year at the university you will have what they call "method blocks" in which you will be teaching classes as practice for a couple of good classes and for a year i think. to graduate with a BA you need a GPA of at least 2.5 and it is reccomended that you do internships in the summer to gain practice and knowledge. and what pays more is a teacher with a Master's of PhD degree in all areas since they are the ones that teach university level and hard to find sometimes in different domanins! good luck and i hope that the info helped

Prepare well for the interview....do the research........there are many potentially asked interview questions that can be found online.......Oh and as far as pay.........it varies from state to state, county to county............You can find this information online also.....as to the teaching pay schedule for each state (Ex: Georgia pays well). Teachers are typically paid monthly, although there are still some school systems which pay bi-weekly. Salaries could range from beginning teacher pay @ $36000-40,000 to start. and could exceed 65,000 depending on how many years of experience and what level degree you hold. (A master's degree pays more than a bachelors, a doctorate pays more than a master's, etc.) In some counties they pay you based on a particular grade level taught, but that is now so in every county. Teaching can be rewarding, but it requires patience, endurance, organization, and a lot of your personal time. I love it!

It depends on what state you want to teach in. Some have more requirements that others. At the least you will need a bachelors degree from an accredited college and some sort of teaching credential or license issued by the state you end up teaching in. I'd search the web for "Department of Education California (or Montana, New York, etc...wherever you want to teach)". Once you find the web page, read what requirements they have.

It takes 4 years of college, graduating with a teachers degree, and passing a teacher's exam to become licensed. Special Education teachers are supposed to get paid more than elementary or secondary teachers. This is because it requires more paper work than just grading papers and lesson plans, there's individual evalutions, individualized lesson plans, etc.

A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they are atheists too. Not really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks. There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Lucy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not an atheist." Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?" "I'm a Christian." The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why she is a Christian. "Well, I was brought up knowing and loving Jesus. My mom is a Christian, and my dad is a Christian, so I am a Christian." The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?" She paused, and smiled. "Then," says Lucy, "I'd be an atheist." ......................................... Teacher: Where is your homework? Pupil: I lost it fighting this kid who said you weren't the best teacher in the school ......................................... The teacher spent the entire hour reading to her class about the bison family. When she had finished, she said, “Name some things that are very dangerous to get near to and have horns.” Little Johnny spoke up without hesitation, “Automobiles?” ......................................... A little boy just couldn't learn. One day his teacher asked him who signed the Declaration of Independence. He didn't know. For almost a week she asked him the same question every day, but still he couldn't come up with the right answer. Finally, in desperation, she called the boy's father to her office. "Your boy won't tell me who signed the Declaration of Independence," she complained. "Come here, son, and sit down," the dad said to the boy. "Now if you signed that crazy thing, just admit it so we can get out of here!"

Learn vocabulary, grammar, and spelling. Then go to college and get a Bachelors degree in education to teach elementary school. Usually to teach high school, you have to major in the subject area you want to teach, and have a Masters degree in education.
