I have been very nervous to meet my boyfriend's mother for some time now...needless to say, she hasn't shown any interest in me. This weekend him and I are traveling to meet her and I'm debating on whether or not I should bring her anything. I don't want to seem like I'm sucking up, and I don't have an incredible budget either. So if i get her a gift what would be appropriate??? Help!

I would bring a plant...They have those potted roses that are really cheap, under 5 bucks and they wont die like cut flowers....

You absolutely have to ask your boyfriend what his mother would like. He is more of an expert on what his mother likes than you can be since you've never met her. I think if you can't get something she'll like, you shouldn't bring a gift.
Ask your boyfriend if his mother collects anything, such as dolls. She will like it if you bring her something she loves.
If you can't afford to buy her a gift, don't sweat it. There are other ways to win her affection. If you are polite and treat her with the utmost respect and make it clear that you love/like her son and are good for him, that's the best you can do.

I know it can be very nerve racking to meet your boyfriend's mother - Your probably thinking - what if I say something stupid or insult her? What if she does not like me? You could drive yourself crazy trying to be "perfect". It may sound like a cliche-just remember to be yourself and relax. Have belief and confidence in yourself and know you are worthy of love and acceptance just because you are you. If you know that you did your best and she still does not like you - just give her time and have compassion towards her feelings.
A nice gift is always a beautifully scented candle. It expresses warmth, peace and relaxation!.

At this point no gift is needed.. Flowers might be fun!! Just be yourself... And Let your boyfriend take the lead on this first meeting,, he will give you great clues on how to handle his mother..

How might you work together with the different buddy's mom? climate...superb outfit...the place'd you pass to college...etc. confer together with her approximately HER life and hobbies. that is already a given which you the two like her son...time to get to understand her. stable success.

When you meet her, be yourself. Mom's can tell if your putting on an act or being yourself. As for the gift.... an indoor plant. If the next time you visit her and it is still alive, then you know that she cared enough to keep it alive. If it is dead during your next visit, well...
