if you are vague on the lyrics, throw in some hints about the music.
is sung by man or woman, soft ballad or something else, etc. when you ask for help, the more info you offer, the more likely you'll get a satisfactory response.
the closest i can think of is Toto's "Hold the Line"
with the lyric: "love isn't always on time..."
i offer that because you say it's kinda older,
but for all i know that may mean only 3 years to you
