it won't make a sound because if no one is there to hear there won't be a receptor to the sound waves and without a receptor sound ceases to exist.

If an asteroid hits the moon, there will be no sound, whether anyone is there to hear it or not.

Sound is defined as a series of compressions and rarefactions in the atmosphere. If there is no atmosphere, there can be no sound, The moon does not have an atmosphere.

But is a tree falls in a forest and no one is around it will still make a sound, because of the definition of what sound is.

Glad I could help.

No.

There is no atmosphere to carry the sound. If the vibrations or the impact can be felt it still doesn't make it a sound and you say nobody is there to hear it (or feel it).

If someone were on the moon at the time and the impact caused reverberation withing the spacesuit / helmet that would effectively be a sound from the asteroid.

It doesn't make a sound whether there is anyone there or not, because sound is a compression wave in air, and there isn't any air on or surrounding the moon.

Sound is vibrations through the air. Since the moon has no air, it would not make a sound.

Even if someone was there, they couldn't hear it. You can't hear sound in space because there is no air. Space is a vacuum so you can't hear sound. Movies that have loud explosions in space like star wars are lying to people. Btw I like star wars.

it does not matter if anyone is there. because sound needs a medium to conduct it, like air.

there is no air between here and there, so there is no sound.

you might hear it by conduction through the ground, though.
