The EGR solenoid is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation solenoid,it works in conjunction with the EGR valve in recirculating exhaust gases back into your car's intake to cut down on bad emissions.
It should not be hard to find, first you will want to find the EGR valve. It will come off of one of your exhaust manifold's,just a small tube that will go to a small metal UFO looking device.kinda looks like a flying saucer with a connector and tube's coming out of it.That should be the EGR valve. The solenoid will probrably be very nearby or right next to it,one of the wire's from the valve or a tube from the valve should go directly to it.
Hope this helps,it's kinda generic info on EGR.I've never worked on a saturn.

It is the device that the computer uses to control the level of exhaust gas recirculated into the engine by the EGR valve. The EGR valve is a mechanical device and therefore requires an electro-mechanical device for control by an electronic device.
The solenoid/valve is located at the top end of the engine,at the rear below the air filter assembly. Locate the EGR valve at the driver's side end of the engine (About 4-1/2" diameter round component, about 2-1/2" high made of pressed steel). Identify the single vacuum line attached to it and follow that line. It will connect to the solenoid/valve at the other end, and the solenoid will have an electrical plug attached to it with two wires for power and control.

Good Luck

I'm sure it's right next to the blinker fluid reservoir.
