given the root word is celtic (keltic ) should our Boston Celtics not be pronounced as such(Boston keltics) ,was it origionaly intended this way
please ezplaine if you know something i don't (about the question)

I think it's been Americanized, like most words. You are very right, it should probably be pronounced with a hard "c"

Because the word has been Anglicized. Anglican pronunciations lean heavily on the Roman tradition.
