Tina Turner. She sang this in the '80's during her "come back". She had a fantastic early career, but her personal life was miserable due to her marriage to and partnership with the abusive Ike Turner. I think this song has something to do with that relationship--sort of a response to it. She is still performing today. Famous for her great legs!

Tina Turner, still making music, and yes the song holds alot of truth.Most of the time love is a secound hand emotion.

Tina Turner wrote this song right after she and Ike Turner were divorced and she probably believed that love had nothing to do with their relationship since love is not suppose to hurt, and all he did was break her heart physically and emotionally. She's still alive today she's in her 60's and still going strong.

Tina Turner sings/sang this song. It was the title song for her autobiographical movie. Yes, it held a lot of truth for her in her marriage to Ike Turner, who abused her and was jealous as she became more popular than him, and he continued to excessively indulge his senses.
Today, I hope she is happy. I haven't heard much about her of late.
