You are born gay. Why would anyone chose to live a life so full of hatred all around them? I applaud those who come out and live their lives as best as they can in this hateful and ignorant world.

From a play/movie written by a gay playwright named Mart Crowley.
"You're a sad and pathetic man. You're a homosexual and you don't want to be, but there's nothing you can do to change it. Not all your prayers to your God; not all the analysis you can buy in all the years you've got left to live. You may very well one day be able to know a heterosexual life. If you want it desperately enough. If you pursue it with the same fervor with which you annihilate. But you will always be homosexual as well. Always, Michael. Always. Until the day you die."

I truly believe that being gay is part of a person's genetic makeup. In my personal experience, if a family has one gay member, there is usually another. It could be a sibling or a cousin. I just don't believe that anyone would choose to spend their lives being ridiculed and harassed.

It is very simple, if born gay. You then have a choice on whether you act on it or not.

No one makes a conscience decision about their sexuality. That's a foolish notion. People are born the way they are. Simple as that.

Actually some research has shown that you can, in fact, be born gay. This is due to a mental imbalance, however, it isn't 100% confirmed.

You are born gay. It's not a choice.
If it was a choice, everyone would choose to be straight so they wouldn't have to deal with being teased, threatened, ignored, not being able to marry, ect...

You have to distinguish between the desire and the act. It is natural for a man to desire a woman and vice versa, would you agree? Most people feel this desire whether they want to or not. But it is each person's choice what to do about that desire, whether to act on it or not.
But what if a man doesn't feel desire for women? What if he feels desire for men instead? What if a woman desires women, not men? Some people have these homosexual desires, whether they want to or not. But it is still each person's choice what to do about that desire, whether to act on it or not.

I can tell you the answer to your question but you must pay very close attention. When you see a pregnant woman who is very happy then her off-spring will be GAY also.

Some believe it is nature, some believe it is nurture. If you are religious, then you believe the former.
No one can prove either. Unless you have a way to prove it, other than it is in the Bible, then people will continue to believe what they want to believe.
