My husband just explained to me tonight that Reyes irons his bill to keep it straight as a board.
Not sure why.....whatever makes him comfortable

I'm not sure about the bend in the bill...but he's wearing those pants like the good ole days! A lot of pitchers do this and some players.

He is just trying to stand out. Plus I think anyone on the Cardinals who where their socks high has those lines on them, because it's team uniform. About the beak, I guess it's the same reason Dantrell Willis wears his to the side.

Actually he looks old school. Thats how some of the older players, before our time use to dress.
Personally I like it. It shows he knows where this game came from.

It just may be that this is the way he is and doesn't care at all what YOU or anyone else thinks about it! Or maybe he realizes he doesn't have to be like everyone else. Maybe, just maybe, his parents brot' him up with some good home training.

I like the striped socks and the hat, and who the hell cares what he wares he could ware pink socks for all I care as long as he does his job as a pitcher.

It may be a type of superstition, ritual, or something he has always done. Lots of athletes have them. Looks like it is working, too!

He wants to be different. Are you watching baseball or a fashion show?
