Same reason I always keep a tampon in my purse--you just never know. Plus, if you always have one with you, that means you never have to *remember* to put one in your purse--when you need it, you'll already have it. Also, sometimes you can get "spotting" in between periods. A pantyliner is handy for stuff like that.
Also, as my mother once pointed out to me (to my great teenage embarrassment), if you have sex without a condom, "what goes in must come out". And it generally doesn't all come out at the same time. So a pantyliner is useful for catching that, too.

Not sure about the cheating thing but some carry them around in case a friend needs one and sometimes a woman's cycle isn't as predictable as one would like.

Some women have a wierd period, and suometimes all of them do it's just that some women learn from the first expirience and are very precautious so it won't happen again, some use it for discharge, but for cheating not really unless it has sperm on it.

a way of cheating.. no. we can spot weeks from our period thank u very much, and sometimes r schedule is pushed off a little and we start earlier!! it sucks!

Just to be prepared, just in case your period comes early. Maybe a friend would need one. I always carry them in my purse.
