I just don't get it. Are they stupid or something, or just blind?

2006-10-21 15:24:21 · 28 answers · asked by Ladybug 3 in Politics & Government Politics

I am a liberal, but I do not consider myself FAR left. There are many conservative views that I do agree with actually, but I won't get into that.

I refuse to "support my president" while he is screwing not only our country, but other people's countries as well. That is what America is all about, isn't it? To speak your mind, voice your opinion. Or are we all supposed to be blind citizens that just follow a man that is nothing more than a cowboy as he drives us into some of the worst times of our country's history?

Give Bush a chance? LOL! He has had many chances my dear, and has screwed up EVERY time. Anyone that knows anything about the Middle East and the history of the Middle East knows very well that he is doing in Iraq is only fueling the terrorism and will continue to for a hundred years to come. Wake up.

A lot of Republicans don't like Bush. And I don't think the rest are all stupid or blind, I think some are just deluded into thinking that he is doing something good. I mean, people still liked Hitler after he started doing all those crazy things and killing people. I would have to say if there is one Bush, there has to be others that are like him... and I guess those are the ones that still respect him... in there deluded way.

Step back just a little. Just a little further. A few more steps. Look at the planet earth as one map.
Are we positioned on the map to operate with the best precision offensively and defensively?
Maybe 15/20 years from now, Bush will be considered the most slick President the United States ever had. We will wonder how he knew that we need to be where we were so long before the rest of the world. Of course he would owe a great deal of thanks to the very people he thanks today.
We have the freedom to vote, once a man becomes President, it is un-American to not support the President. All I am saying, is give Bush a chance.

hahahaha, you are so funny. "anyone who knows anything about history...he will fuel terrorists for a hundred years to come"

That is so contradictory. Anyone who knows anything about history, knows that no one can predict the next day, much less 100 years from now. You should give him a chance. I personally did not like him for a while then I actually did my research, and I wonder how people can dislike this man. Every answer I get is from conspiracy website (be it from 9-11, to Iraq is for oil) they are all conspiracies, and have almost no plausibility

Republicans tend to be rigid in their thinking. They think that when we were attacked that someone had to pay, never mind if it was the wrong country. The real culprit, Bin Laden is off having a good laugh, and so are the relatives that Bush had safely escorted out of the country instead of having them interrogated!

They also think his failures are not that bad. For instance, letting millions of illegals over the border before you put military on the border can be overlooked. Why, we can even give them amnesty! Never mind, our ports and borders make us sitting ducks for every quack that wants to blow us up! You would think this would have been a PRIORITY after 9-11!
What about the trillions of dollars of deficit that will take years to pay off? Not very good for a conservative administration!

I think this whole thing boils down to partisan politics! They will never admit that their boy did such a crappy job in office, even if he brings the whole country down in shambles! Forget about the good of the country because I don't think they care as long as their guy gets in!

Well, though I am personally a Republican (a moderate, mind you), I'm feeling that Bush isn't *the* greatest. I don't think he's the worst, but I'm giving him at least 60% support.

Yah, yah, use the "cowboy" rhetoric when you have nothing substantive to say. Look, as a conservative, there has been many disappointments with his policies. But fighting the war on terrorism isn't one of them. Maybe you are the one with the rose colored glasses, but I see a man who does stick to his guns and is not swayed back and forth by polls like the previous administration.

Why are we picking on Bush? You vote right. what about our Senators and Congressman. We I say WE allow them to do what they do, they make the laws they allow billions for war. Then we must be to blame, most people do not vote but complain. Then others just vote for Congressmen and women who should be held accountable by the American people but are not. Lets stop blaming the President or people in congress lets blame ourselves and start voting. Vote everyone out regardless of party that does not stand up for the American People.

I know four Republicans, 3 have deserted the sinking ship called the Republican party...soon to be the minority in the senate and house. Then, the Democrats are going to do to Bush, what his father did to Jimmy Carter when he was head of the CIA. Bush is going to lose any toehold he might have, and when he walks out of office, he will go down as the worst president in the history of the US...putting us into debt so far that it will take a century to dig us out of this hole. Right now, we are 80 TRILLION dollars in debt because of his little "member" problem.

As much as I detested Clinton getting his jollies in the Oval Office, at least he only ejaculated on (or in) one person, where as Bush ejaculated his premature wars all over the place. His father only had four years to mess up, 8 years has taken our money level down to Ethiopia. Next thing you know, the UN will be sending in aid to help us recover...Oh, that's right, the UN is fairly useless as well.

Those who know what Republicanism really stands for
do NOT support Bush because he is taxing-and-spending America into an early grave by tying up our tax dollars in these wars of choice. They don't like him because he's too friendly with foreign business interest at the expense of the Americans and their interests and livelihood (not too mention selling out portions of America to China and the Saudis is VERY un-American). And they don't like him because he is a COWARD that got out of fighting due to privilege, yet he's leaving no national guardsman behind in serving in Iraq.

The repuglicans are the more mentally deficient of the population. As proof I offer that they voted not once but twice for a coke snorting, alcoholic with no morals. The ones that still support him are the dangerous ones, no brain, the brain was probably dead at birth and there is no recovery from that. Some repuglicans have figured out that they made a mistake, and that is why his approval ratings are so low.
