Have you tried drinking a soothing tea? There is one brand called Celestial Seasonings. It has wellness teas that is called Sleepytime and one called Sleepytime Extra. The Extra contains Valerian. They have both helped me get some rest when I needed it. There are also other brands of tea are herbal sleep aids. Chamomile is also another good choice in tea.
you can go to celestialseasonings.com to get more info. Hope this helps! :)

It doesn't work that way. It takes a long time to "catch up" on lost sleep. You never really do, you just get back into a healthy amount. I wouldn't suggest cutting back on liquids (especially water - you really do need your water daily). Perhaps you need to look at what you drink or eat Friday. Any caffeine? Other things that are different from the weekdays? It just may be that you have a cycle and your body is ready to wake up at 8 am on Saturdays.

If you are waking up at 8, then I think your body is telling you that that is enough sleep. Get up, run some errands or have some fun, then try to take a little nap later in the day.

you should stick to the same sleep plan that you have during the week. if you try to sleep in, it will only make you more tired. don't try taking sleep meds either, there could be long term side effects. if you feel tired later on in the day, take a short cat nap.

Go to bed earlier-- its as simple as that
If you can't fall asleep, then you don't really need the sleep and you should try other option.
Try exercise if you feel tired. I know it sounds strange, but regular exercisewill help you feel energized over time.
