I have had to replace the master cylinder and vacuum booster on my 2001 Mazda Tribute 3 x's in last 4 months. First time was result of a vacuum leak under the dash. The leak was found at the vacuum booster where comes thru the fire wall. The last two times have been due to the brake light warning lamp indicating low Dot 3 brake fluid. When inspecting for leaks each time it was determined the fluid had filled the vacuum booster. Was able to find full of fluid by removing the vacuum line and looking through the 1/2 hole. Each time I have replace both vacuum booster and master cylinder. The master cylinders each time had leaked via the connection to the vacuum booster. Fortunatly the supplier has warrenteed the parts but I am just getting tired of changing them. I had checked the vacuum at the booster to be around 21". According to my manual that is within spec. Also the vehicle can set over 24 hrs and still have a strong vacuum at the booster indicating a good check valve. Any Suggestion

i own a repair shop, and i think your getting bad ones ,i have went through the same thing with alternators, 4 in one month, and all were rebuilt ones,i finally bought a new one and have had no trouble from it at all its just the rebuilt one sometimes hold up good and sometimes they don't,i have learned being in the repair business that its best nor to bu rebuilt on anything,i bu new from now on,another thing to on yours there's an adjustment on the rod for the length of the rod if its not done right it will cause any master cylinder to go out on it,good luck i hope this help,s.

problems like these is why I no longer repair cars, parts failure have gotten too common, I suggest to get a refund and buy a different brand. Maybe even a dealer rebuild. I have had to replace parts several times in a row and found this to be just poor manufacturing. good luck.

I feel your agony, you may be getting defective parts.I was thinking the fluid in the rest of your system may be contaminated. Are you using new fluid?Others have suggested trying another reman company, they may have something there, good luck.

couple of things come to mind. Improperly adjusted pushrod, contaminated brake fluid, or a rebuilt part instead of reman or new, and last, inexpensive parts that are improperly rebuilt or remanufactured.
