I may be new to this question and answer forum, but I'm not new to God. I've read quite a few answers to this question and I've spent a lot of time in Christian chat rooms. I've noticed that a lot of the answers to this question were from people who don't believe in God and Jesus, or Heaven and Hell.
What I don't understand is, you don't believe in any of these things and yet you read the question, it gets your attention, and you read some of the answers. Why even read the answers much less respond to the question?
I can deal with Atheism. But present your case. Make sure you say something worth listening to. State your sources, take a stand in what you do or don't believe in. Be prepared to back your words because this debate and other's like it is the most important there'll ever be.
After reading some of the other answers/statements, I've come up with a few answers to questions that hadn't been asked outright, but were there nonetheless underneath the unknowledable comments.
Some people say religion is a "crutch". In a way I suppose it is. The Bible tells us that "apart from God we can do nothing." Nothing that we do on our own in this life is worth anything, it counts for nothing. God isn't keeping score.
Fear and religion can go hand in hand. Some people say that fear is used in religion to "keep people in line". Like if you screw up too many times there's no way you're getting into Heaven. Again, God isn't keeping score. Once you have Salvation, it can't be taken from you.
But I also think that people stay away from religion because they are afraid of it. They come up with an ignorant response to a question they don't want to hear the answer to. Those types of people have their own "crutches" to cling to when things get difficult.
But those kinds of crutches aren't permanent. They're brittle and will eventually let you down. My "crutch" is the Lord, Jesus Christ. My crutch will never break, grow old, and will always support me, no matter what I do or how badly I screw up.
As for what I will say when I stand before the Father, I won't need to say anything. The Lord will be standing with me. And let's just say it will be an open and shut case.

By the time you see God's face you are already in heaven. I think the question is answered before it is asked.

Personally prefer the word 'Spirit' - God puts a male figure into my image. And I prefer to believe our Divine power is just that and has no human attachment.
Heaven doesn't belong to a God, heaven is what we make of life here on earth as a human. You have choices to either make your human experience a heaven spent time or a hell made time.
And Spirit (God) is not there to judge or question, but to give us the choice to become one with the universe and lift to a higher plain. So why would he/she question you. You've transitioned from your human life, and it should be your souls choice where to go next.

When God asks me why He should let me into His heaven, I will reply "because I'm a badass, and you know it."
God will praise me for my objective point of view in looking for real clues as to how most of us came to believe in Him in the first place. The ultimate goal for all humans is to aquire happiness, so as long as we do this, while respecting our environment and others around us, then we have won the eternal ticket to freedom.
I think it helps to recycle and all that jazz too. If not, than I guess I'm going to hell.. so to speak.

I would just be mighty surprised beacuse I wasn't expecting a heaven, I was just hoping that humans would learn to take care of this earth instead of building walmarts over every square inch of wild land and trashing it. Seems to me that if you can't take care of this world, why use the prmise of a next one as an excuse to not care for this one as an intelligent and environmentally conscious steward? Is god gonna let a wal mart shopper into heaven? I wouldn't want heaven littered with a bunch of blue plastic bags that just get tossed away and end up stuck in the bushes along the highway.

Firstly---the question is wrongly put. You do not speak to God the Father until you are allowed into heaven. You are met by our Savior Jesus Christ. I would speak to Jesus Christ-saying you know of my life and times on earth-I lived a human life-which you understand as you were human. I learned of you and believed in your words of forgiveness and the atonement. This is not the time to barter or give worldly words of reason for my human errors, I would ask for mercy for my errors.

This will not happen because Christianity is false. Anybody that took two seconds to think for themselves and do any personal spirtual work (besides crying and pleading for an all knowing omnipotent patriach/vending machine in the sky) to forgive them for their "sins" then they might come to similiar realizations but instead they are content with calling these ancient outdated religions that are dependent on a static moral framework (which has been proven impossible repeatedly and could be proven so by a 5 year old with half a brain) spiritual and therefore drag the word spirituality in the mud. When will the world wake up?! Religion is insanity not spirituality!!! and yes I know "you'll pray for me"

I would say to him I truly do not deserve to reside in heaven because I was born from sin, but that the blood of Jesus Christ covered my sins and I am made right by my acceptance of of the blood of Christ. I would say I've done my best Lord to live life as you've instructed me in your guidance. When I was unsure I let you carry me, when I was sure I carried on in your name PROUDLY. Yes I've sinned and asked for your forgiveness. And now as Im unsure if Im worthy, I ask that you carry me yet again, Ive tried to the best of my abilities Lord to be a faithful servent and now I am praying you continue to be my leader. And as you have never let me fall I will prove to be a faithful servent.

I would tell my father that iam a sinner and like Romans 3:23 says i have fell short of the glory of God. But I have excepted his son my savior and all that he had done while on earth. And I have told people about his grace and the sacrfice he made for the human race. ANd that the only way to the father is through the son.
After that its all up to him!

I'm not an expert but doesn't the christian holy book say "man came from the ground, when he dies he will go back" or something? If you want me to I'll look up the link but if the bible says that then isn't contradicting itself when it says you'll go into heaven? Meh answering a question with a question isn't good.
