I only saw snippets of the original one. And, the movies made in the late 60's and the 70's turns out to be much scarier then the movies of today. That is where the directors get their inspiration from-the movies back then that scared them as a kid. I mean, Wes Craven's "The Last House on the Left"? If that was not a scary movie, I do not know where you are coming from.
So, personally, there is smothing spooky about the old movies. I mean, hell, "Nosferatu", a a silent horror vampire movie from the 20's is scarier then some of the movies now.
So, I would say that even though the latter one may be a little more bloodier then the original one, I would stick with the original one. It did have some black humor in it.

Pure shite!

Ok. Here is the scoop.... when I go to a horror movie, I expect for my blood to be pumping and my pulse to race a bit at the scary parts. I want to be swept into the story and jump at scenes that I don't expect.... but what did I get? For my money I got a long, boring, yawning and purely rotten movie. I was hoping for more depth and not so much stupidity. If this was suppose to be scary and a good horror flick, I just didn't get it. I found some of the scenes actually laughable. For a minute I forgot the movie was not a comedy but a horror movie. The cop was over the top in his acting. He started out strong, but progressed to just foolishness. Even though we all know that no one will survive in this movie, I just plain expected more from this prequel. Instead, what I ended up with was a waste of my time and money. Good grief.... I would of been better off taking a nap on a friday afternoon. At least I would of saved my $5!

Release Date: October 6th, 2006
MPAA Rating: R- for strong horror violence/gore, language and some sexual content.
U.S. Box Office: $30,192,411

My grade: 6/10 *

Okay, I liked the original better only because of one scary reason. As sick as it is, it could happen. The remake was better filmed but there is no wayyyyyyyy, that someone who has a pinata full of marijuana, has a hitchhiker kill themselves in their car, goes looking for a cop. That's the first thing I'd do. Yeah, right. Most people would have dumped her dead *** on the side of road and turned around and went back the other way. Not throw the pinata away and go looking for a cop(who with my luck would have charged me with murder). But the prequel looks good.

The Halloween remake replaced into truly solid because it went extra into intensity in Michael as a baby, rather of throwing him into the homicide. The Friday the 13th remake appeared kinda undesirable; made it appear as if children are all about beer, drugs, and sex. On accurate of that, they casted truly all warm chicks, and what i might want to imagine respectable adult males. So it appeared extra visually stimulative. As for the Texas chainsaw bloodbath, they are continually kinda eh, i replaced into not in any respect a huge fan of them.

I freakin' love the original. The remake is just gorier and has more foul language, but I still really like it. But the original made me laugh more. It was more raw.
