It is the film about nuclear war and yes the most depressing film ever made, it should be watched by everyone though

The only movie I know called "Threads" was one about the aftermath of a nuclear war. It focused on this one woman who was trying to survive. I found it very depressing.

I saw it at school as part of GCSE Religious Studies. Not sure why the Russians (or was it the Americans?) would want to bomb Sheffield though. Very bleak; it was cast towards the end of the cold war when 'Protect and Survive' booklets had been distributed to households in reality.
Chilling in a way, but would be outdated now.

Chilling. I saw it a month ago. Seems very dated of course, as the nuclear threat has all but gone away. Unless you count North Korea.

The film is very well done, and at times quite scary (and graphically gruesome).

I have seen it, you are right it should also be part of educating people as it clearly showed the aftermath of a neuclear attack, it is a bit like the film the day after

i saw this when it was 1st shown on BBC1 in the 80s.
it scared the bejaysus out of me then and has pretty much the same effect when i watch it on DVD now, especially with all the goings on in N Korea.the thought of having to try to survive after a nuclear attack is terrifying .no water, no food, mobs running riot, the possibility of being shot by the armed forces for looting when your just trying to survive .i would rather die in the blast

Actually I have seen it several times. It is very stark and realistic looking. A chilling reminder of what a "nuclear winter" is and the ravages it brings.
