You should get counselling.
As for you main concern, the simplest solution is to pass a new cable.
If you know someone who does wiring, they may be able to get an isolated junction box to fix it. But even well done, the signal will get weaker than replacing the cable.

Is there enough cable still sticking out of the wall for a repair? You could splice it, if you know how to properly splice wires. However, a spliced ethernet cable likely to have degraded performance and it may be susceptible to noise.
There are special connectors available for this purpose. You may be able to find such at a local electronics supply shop, but you probably will have to order via mail or the Internet. While this solution is not perfect, it may be your best bet.
If there is not enough cable sticking out of the wall, a new cable will probably have to be run. Maybe alcohol and scissors with a twist of ethernet is not too good a cocktail?

you could replace it or you can splice the cable. if you don't have a crimping tool just go to your local hardware store and get some tifco connectors and mach color for color on the wire. or if you have a crimping tool you can just put a rj45 on both ends of the cut and use a connector to connect the both of them together. Be sure you know the color code if your gonna go the rj45 route
