I'm sorry to hear you hurt yourself like this.
It probably happened exactly because it was cold. Even if you warmed up before, it is still possible that it happened due to cold weather. It is not recommended to dance in this kind of conditions - cold, slippery. I would have refused to perform if I were on your team. I have too much respect for my body and my dancing to do anything like that. The director was probably scared because he was responsible for allowing this practice to take place. He doesn't want to get punished for you being hurt.

To prevent cramps, you need to make sure that you have enough potassium and calcium.

Owwwwwwwwww that hurts, I can not tell you how much that happens to me! Yes it could have been the cold or the fact that it was wet. All those things could of been the cause. I have craps like that all the time, but the Doctor told me that it happen when I don't have enough potassium in my body. To get more potassium eat bananas they are an excellent source of it! Trust me i know. Don't worry about it, you had no way of knowing that was going to happen! To prevent it, don't over do it, stretch well but not to much and eat allot of bananas! Even if it was the cold potassium would help stimulate the mussel, just for the future! Good luck keep dancing!

i know that your quads are very tricky mussels.it very well could have been from the cold that they pulled, but i also know that the older i get the better i have to really stretch my quads out.i know if i don't stretch very good one day from playing softball and then go and play softball 2 days later and only do a quick stretch that i am in a world of hurt the moment i take off running.if you pulled it bad you should look at a 2 weeks or more recovery.good luck.

i know you don't want to hear this....however....you were on a "field" i'm sure this was an over sight, however, use your spell check. have you been making alot of mistakes lately?
if your director, and asst. director aren't happy, then the saying
"those who can't "DO"......coach" since the ground was wet, muddy, slippery, etc.... you could have really hurt yourself!
since it was cold, you should have done more to try to stay warm. it's taken me a long time to figure out, if "you" don't take care of "you" no one else will!!! give it some time to get better, and talk to your coaches....

it could have been because of the cold. You probably already know that muscles tighten up a lot when they are cold. So it's easier to pull a muscle. Or maybe you stretched just a little too far and it tightened up. Either way, you couldn't have helped your muscle from spazzing. Hope things go better next time =D

rest first. i have been a dancer for 11 years and i know that if you carrry on after an injury straight away you will hurt yourself more. if you rest for a week and see a doctor you have more chance of recovering quicker. and tbh ccan you really tell yourself you are going to dance you best with pulled muscles? dont worry about letting the team down they will fogive you. take my advice i know what i am talking about lol(ps: irish dancing is the best try it out some day) good luck in futhure shows just remember to take it easy for a while :)

Cold can cramp up muscles. What were you doing the day before and the day of your performance? Did you stretch really good before? If you didn't stretch good, that would be your problem.

I would imagine that the cold had alot to do with it. However I would be willing to bet that you probably over did the practices for your move. A word of advice, don't sweat it to much if you have been doing this for seven years you must be doing something right. Just pick yourself up and perform that much better on your next performance. Best of luck to you.

Muscle Spasms happen for many reasons so who is to say why this happened, muscle spasms also happen if you do not drink enough water (the muscles weaken and TELL YOU0

The cold was a big factor and before you do these routines.......do a few streching exercises and that will solve the problem......
