My monitors resolution is 1440x900. If I'm not mistaken thats better then a 720p HD-TV but the video just doesn't look as crisp. Why?

because the video itself is made for the 720p res. if the video were filmed at 1440x900, it would look like crap on the 720 p tv, because 2 or 3 pixels would be smashed into one, and when its the other way around, it has to dither 1 pixel into 2 or 3. to prove this, try playing a game where you can adjust res on the tv

Personally i like using regular HD monitors because a 32 inch tv seems a little big when your only sitting 2 feet away. But, using a TV would be nice because you can also watch tv on it. For a tv i would get a vizio. thats what im using now because its cheap with great picture
