In my view the major difference between BMW 325 and BMW 325i is that the former is is a low-rev carburated model whereas the later one is fuel injected with non- carbureated motor. For more information on BMW 325i and BMW 325, visit http://www.carpurchaseguide.com/bmw/bmw-325xit.htm

More elaborately, '3xx' is a three series of a bmw model, 25 (last two digits) refer to the engine displacement, i.e., 2.5 liters and i for fuel injected model.

325 and 325i, are not the same. The biggest difference other than trim is the "i", means that its a fuel injected, non- carbureated motor. Better fuel milage and alittle peppier on take-off. 3 is the model, 25 is the size of your engine. 2.5 litre. Its larger than your typical 4-banger, but not as large as a V6. I guess next someone will ask what does BMW stand for, well, here goes, Brevarian Motor Works. Some will lie and say British Motor Works, but thats an oxymoron. If you have a 325i, never part with it, its europe's equvalent to the old german made volkswagen bettle, before the design change in 1998. Its a keeper, and as long as you dont abuse it, it will get you there and back forever, and cheap.

the guys are right i is for fuel injected except on e30 models the ones from 84-91. those had 325i and 325. also 325is, 325ix and 325e and 325es. the e were for eta; an "efficient" model which had a 2.7 liter engine but less power made to save gas. the 325is had the 2.5, sport seats, body work and suspension. the es had the 2.7 engine but features from the sport models. the ones that were badged with just 325 had the efficient engines but certain years did not have the e badge i think the later ones did not 88-91 or it could have been vice versa. the ix was just an all wheel drive version.

but every 3 series 92 and up should have an i, ic or is behind the number; and starting in 2000 i think they had a ci moniker and the x for all wheel drive.

the first number in a bmw model is the series, so a '3xx' is a three series. the second and third numbers, usually, refer to the engine displacement, so '325' is 2.5 liters. The 'i' means that it is a fuel injected model. Some people remove the 'i' or the entire model badge, but all bmw's have been fuel injected, or 'i' models for a very long time.

It is the difference between one being fuel injected and one being carburated The base 325 is also referred to as the 325e which is a low-rev carburated model with a 2.7L engine.

They're both 3 series' with a 2.5 litre engine and both petrol, but the X means 4 wheel drive, so it will obviously have better grip and will perform better in dangerous road conditions.

ok, "3" is series or body style, "25" is engine displacement in hundreds of cubic centemeters(2.5 litres),"i" usually indicates injection or a higher level of performance-"X" would indicate all wheel drive-the blue and white in BMW logo is the view of clouds through a WW1 fighters prop as BMW started as aircraft engine maker-
