If you mean lets have a UK side to enter World Cup etc. First problem - the Irish, Welsh and Scots would be left out because even the most loyal supporters of those countries wouldn't be able to suggest too many of their players who would make the team. Second - a UK team would lead to foreign demands that there is a single UK Football Association and so a single UK Premier League from which the only entrants to European club competitions would be allowed. The Scots, Irish and Welsh would surely then disappear. That's why the Scots FA in particular is against having a UK side at the Olympics.

Do you mean I team made up of English Scottish Welsh and Northern Irish players? If so I cannot see any point. With the exception of Ryan Giggs I cannot think of another player outside England who would get in the team.
