i'm going to a fun show and there's a costume class. i was going to dress my horse up as a hay bale but i'm not sure. what do you think of this costume? and what do you think i should dress her up as instead? it can be any catagory scarey, cute, silly, ect. it really doesn't matter. i have to make it myself (no going out and buying a costume) so nothing really hard to make.

I was in a dairy parade, so I made my horse a cow. I bought some cow print fabric, and used one of his blankets for a pattern. It was basically just sewing the topline, hemming, and putting on some velcro. Then I made a tube for his neck and tail. Lastly (of course I didn't tell him this part until we got to the parade :)) I made 2 udders out of pink fabric, stuffed them, and sewed one to each side (I wasn't about to put anything underneath him). I dressed up in a flannel shirt and a straw hat.
I do like your haybale idea. :) Just be careful of what you use to make it. You wouldn't want your horse to try to eat himself. ;)

it kind of depends on what colour your horse is. i had a strawberry roan that i sprayed polka dots with red stock marker and made some frilly things from cheap material and elastic-put them around her fetlocks and neck and took her as a clown. i also made a silly hat. to top it off i dressed in a clown suit too!
i came second because the winner looked like a reindeer.
maybe a tu-tu and be a ballerina. or a packhorse, maybe even a cowboy/Indian thing?? the hay bale idea sounds great too but I'm having trouble imagining it. good luck and i hope you take out first prize with whatever you choose... sounds fun!!

we've performed a lot of this via the years and gained each time! we've performed The Snow Queen - we made a silver tunic out of sparkly fabric - one piece of fabric, stitch it up the factors, go away slits on the backside, and make a hollow for the pinnacle, and then a silver cape with a hood - made with the help of a chum, trimmed with swansdown - did the coolest deal for £25. We placed silver fabric over the boots. on the horse we hung christmas snowflakes from the mane and 'icicles' from the reins. We gained first place limitless cases with that for the period of all places then exceeded the outfit directly to others who additionally gained! the different one we did replaced into the Thelwell subject matter as reported - yet make certain you get the acceptable english photos of the type you need to gown and which you seem the acceptable style of scruffy - its mandatory! in basic terms the brits do it so properly and so of course!! wish that facilitates! chuffed dressing up and that i'm hoping you win in spite of you go as!! those have been the days - its all very severe dressage now!!

Apache Rose Peacock needs to chill out. It's not cruel to dress your horse up. It's fun and my horse and I both love it. I show miniature horses and next weekend we will be a costume class too. I went to wal-mart and got a bag of wings and halo for me and devil horns and tail for him. They were only $1.99 each.
Good luck and hope you have FUN!!!!!

well you could get an old sheet and turn her into a really big baby. Get a bonnet or make on, and a big pink bow around her neck
it is not much but it is something the horse will wear with out too much complaint

Budget is the issue I guess. You could make her up like alien pony. Put some little antenna coming out of her head. Giver she a shiny silver coat that blinks and put lites in her tail.

what color is your horse
brown- you could be Shaggy and your horse Scooby, use either shoe polish or they have horse "spray paint" at tack stores
white/gray- you, little Bo Peep, horse sheep
paint/appy- you could be a painter and carry around bucket of paint and brush and horse could be your "canvas"...OK so that is kinda stupid, but it could work
