Don't purchase a gun illegally. You need to go to the local Sheriff's office and apply for a gun permit. If your application has been checked and it says you are allowed to have a gun. Go to a local gun shop or a place like Gander Mountain. Select your gun of preference and then get it registered with the Sheriff's office. First of all you need to be a responsible gun owner. Do not buy a used gun or a gun where you don't know where it has been or if it has been used for something criminal .
I am trying to assist you with knowing and telling you to do a gun purchase the legal way. Don't let it get you in trouble.

You likely can't,, as you must not have any mental disability/deemed incompetent, drug usage/addiction, over 18, and not be a felon.. I've got an idea about 2 of those.....get a bat, lock the doors with a deadbolt, drive down to the nearest animal shelter and sponsor a pitbull. The world isn't against you!

you can legally own quite an arsenell of defence weapons, such as baseball bats, swords, and crossbows. Dont risk a minimum 5 years! Most domestic burglars arnet going to carry guns, nor could they aim, with a croos bow bolt, sticking in thier face.
