You most likely have a Smitfraud desktop hijacker infection. Most "general purpose" antivirus and antispyware programs cannot touch it, as you may have already found out.
Removal will likely require a semi-manual procedure.

Download and Run AVG ANTI VIRUS.
Delete anything that comes up and then restart your computer.
If nothing comes up, run your computer in safe mode and try again.

Download AVG from grisoft.com. It is free.It is for virus. But you may need spyware package for hijacking. CyberDefense is great. $46..

go to download.com ...download ..SPYBOT...it is free and very effective and will remove ur hijacker...u may have too run it twice to make sure it is gone
