They are not acid free most likely.
Even if they were depending on how they were stored they may have some breakdown anyway..if they are brittle in anyway..best to throw away.
Invest in new acid free supplies. Stuff that came out in the late 80's have turned already even though they were considered good back then.
I have stuff I did in 1989 that has had to be redone.
The scrapbooking field has become a $$$ so the stuff out there has improved immensely since even that time.

Personally I wouldn't use them. Not with all the time and effort it takes to make scrapbooks. If you can find one there are pens that will tell you if the paper is acid or not.
You can also put a layer of acid free paper between the acid album and all the work you do. For example if it is a 12x12 cut a white paper 11.5 x11.5 and glue it over the top. It would have a nice border but also be protected.
I would just use it for making cards, etc. or if you have a child that likes to "help" you scrapbook let him/her use it for fun.

This sounds like my mother's scrapbooks - black pages, thick paper - she put hers together in the 1940s!! Her scrapbooks are full, and none of the photos are damaged. The photos have been in there for 60 years! However, her processed photos from the 1940s are thicker than our pictures now, so the different paper may make a difference with acid damage, etc.

Why don't you make her a thank you gift using the pages? I would not trust that paper to today's photos. It sounds like the stuff that was popular in the 1960s. Maybe you could use it for some other creative project.

As for you, your photograph is far too far-off to tell... As for me, I actual have been informed i glance 17/18.... i'm 21... I actual have additionally been guessed as 25, yet i think of that had extra to do with how i exchange into performing, my adulthood and the way i exchange into dressed, fairly than my face.... it actual relies upon, in pictures on the pose, head to head the way you're performing... Its a mixture of that, and your actual seems that brings human beings to their conclusions....

I wouldnt use them. However, there is spray made now that makes acid supplies safe to use. I ordered mine from a catalog but I have seen it at Michaels and Hobby Lobby as well.

Those pages are not acid free so don't use them for anything having to do with photos. Just throw them away.

Keep them and have them appraised, and find out how old they are and what their worth is.
