I'm only taking birth control to adjust my period, because it's scheduled to fall about the same time as my wedding. I started taking it at the beginning of October, and except for a few days, I've been bleeding pretty regularly since then. It's not painful, just annoying as hell! How long do I have to deal with it? Because I'm wondering if it's a) worth the cost (for bc and tampons) and b) worth the hassle....

When starting birth control pills you will have what is called a break through bleeding. It could happen through out the month until you get the birth control completely in your system. By next month it should be completely gone, and no break through bleeding.

Go back to the dr. The BC pill is the wrong strength. You shouldn't be bleeding except for a short period.

This shouldn't be happening IF you started taking the pills on the first day of your last period. IF you started taking the pills on any other day it will probably take one cycle of the pills to get your body back on track. Talk to your doctor.

everyone's different and so are the different bcp's. when i started on otc-lo a few years ago i bled for a month straight - it was awful. now i started yasmin and didn't have the same problem. your body takes the first month or so to adjust to the hormones in the pill, so stick with it and it will straighten itself out. after this first month you shouldn't have this problem. good luck!

That's way too long to be bleeding. You need to call whoever prescribed those to you and tell them what's going on. To me, it sounds like you need a different type of birth control.
