Fortunately, I am not a guy.

I know there's no draft. I will be 18 in a month, but all guys are required to register in case there is one. I think it's very ironic. Nobody's protesting but that doesn't make it right. No one protested segregation for many years, that didn't make the law right.

It's not about the fact that minors drink, it's that the government believes we cant handle beer but we can handle killing.

That was exactly the argument that got the voting age lowered to 18... along with some effective political activism.

There really are better things to do at 18 than go to war OR drink.

Something that hit home a few years ago was looking at a picture of my father in uniform and realizing that when he was in Europe fighting, he was much closer to my son's age than to mine as I was looking at the picture... it gave me serious pause.

Aloha

Yes, i totally agree. What i mean though is that 18 year olds, should not be sent to war. I don't mean that they are old enough to drink. My nephew is 17. I couldn't picture him in a war. My oldest will be 18 in five years. Atleast wait till they are 21 to send them to war. I'm 32 and they to me, they are just kids. But the military wants teenagers because we all think we are invincible when we are young.

despite the fact that if i'm no longer an American, I thank you to your provider. that's an honourable act and that i applaud you. in my view, i do no longer somewhat get that the two. i did no longer comprehend the eating age grew to become into federally set. i presumed it grew to become into set in each state. In Canada, each province has it extremely is own eating age. In my province that's 18 yet i know of a minimum of one the place that's 19 and a pair of others the place that's 18. i'm uncertain of something of the provinces.

the actually federal drinking age is 18 but each state can alter the law to their liking. Hench the you can add to but not take away phrase. not all people enlist to go and kill as you so put it. dont go and put everyone in that category that is in the military. oh and not being a guy will not save you from anything

I want to drop the age of drinking to 18 anyways. War or no war. If we are considered old enough to make mature adult decisions in life, then we are old enough to drink a beer.

I have heard this stupid analogy too many times. If the young people of today considered this just such a big issue they would be at Washington marching.

Obviously the law is suitable, which is why of yet is still unchanged.

There is no draft, so these kids don't have to go into the military. Why are you assuming that they have to go? Did you know you can vote?........ See? there are balances to everything.
