There is no normal. There are girls who start at nine, and girls that start at 17. Each girl is different. You can ask your mother when she started, or aunts, or grandmother when they started. It may give you some ideas of when you can expect your's. Trust me, you don't want to rush this. It hurts. There's cramps, back pain, bloating, acne, sore boobs, exhaustion, an increased risk of breast cancer, and PMS. You'll mess up your clothes a few times until you get it all figured out. There's pregnancy scares, times you swear something is wrong, and other times you just wish you could lay in be in jammies and not budge. The only thing that is good about starting your period is that one day you can eventually have babies of your own. Nine months of having some parasite living inside your body, sucking your energy and making you fat. Sounds like fun, huh?
If you don't start in the next couple of years, talk to your doctor. But seriously, enjoy this time right now. You don't have to lug around a purse full of tampons and pads and midol, and you won't have that week where you look like absolute crap.

There is no way of making your period come faster. I know you want to be "normal", but it is a pain in all sorts of areas that us women have to deal with for many years. Take this gift while you have it and don't try to grow up too fast. Once you get it you'll want to give it back!!

Why in the world would you want that?? Trust me. You do not want that any sooner than you have to. Its terrible, painful sometimes, and a pain to hope you dont start while your out in public...etc, etc........ Its not a fun thing. Thats crazy to want it sooner. You will wish you didnt have it once it comes.

Yes, there are ways to hasten mensuration; however, they involve prescription medications, hence a doctors approval. Also, they have serious side affects: uncontrolled bleeding, heavy bleeding, severe pain, unconsciousness, possible sterility, to name a few.
I suggest waiting patiently for your body to be healthy and fine in its one time.

There are myths and legends, but in reality there is no way possible. And having your period doesn't make you normal and not having it doesn't make you weird...you'll get it eventually and then you'll be asking ways to relieve cramps etc... enjoy your time!

Glory in the fact that you aren't having it yet. Periods are wretched.
That said, what's your bodyfat percentage like? If you're too thin it can delay the onset of menstruation.
