a rap or hip hop song is only good if the mc can actually rap, as in he has a good flow, he is inovative with his rhymes, and he has a message he is trying to send. besides most beats in rap songs are very similar so it doesnt make sense to say that you only like a song with a good beat, because the rapper is the one that makes the song good.

I like rap for the beat and if it makes me move... some rap (that I can't understand) I just don't listen to...but some of it is really really good.

i dont it depends on the beat, the lyrics, and how they sound it doesnt matter who sings it ill listen to it if i like it idc who sings it i dont care if its Elvis rapping (which will never happen) if hes good ill listen to him or her. (lol Elivs rapping LOL)
