Hey, I'm 16 years old. I've been on the pill close to a year now. My last period was 2 weeks ago as far as I remember and the last day of it or the day after that me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex. He pulls out and stuff but I've heard that doesn't help much. I haven't felt nauseous or exhausted since then but today I've had a slight poking pain in my ovaries/lower back. It comes and goes and moves from left to right. The pain is not bad at all, just slight, but I am still worried. I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but I wasn't able to get more pills until 4 days ago. Any comments appreciated. Thanks

If your period was two weeks ago, then the pain you are feeling is probably ovulation. You normally ovualte midway through your cycle. By the way, aren't you a little young to be having sex?

It is unlikely that you are pregnant, however it is not impossible. You usually ovulate between day 12-14 of your cycle which would be right about now. That is what you are feeling. I have the same thing every month and both my ovaries hurt. Usually, but not always, you ovulate one month from your left and the next month from the right. However, the pain can be felt on all sides of your abdomen. It somehow sends ricochet like pains throughout your body at times. OK now, time for me to lecture you a little....you are 16 and having unprotected sex!!! and the scary part is you say that "I hear that doesn't help much" when talking about pulling out. No that doesn't help you can still get pregnant. If you aren't going to stop having sex at such a young age at least use protection always and realize the consequences of your actions as well as be prepared that at 16 you could be a mommy. A little scary huh?

You should really take a pregnancy test before starting to take the pills again. If you did have an accident and get pregnant starting the pills again could be bad for you and the baby. It is better to be safe than sorry. You can have some pain when you ovulate, or when implantation occurs. There are other reasons too, like STDs if you have been having unprotected sex. If the pain persists regardless of whether you are pregnant you should have an exam. If you are pregnant you should definately see a doctor so you can get good prenatal care. Find a trusted adult, preferably one of your parents, and talk over your fears. In the future be more careful....diseases can be a lot harder to care for than babies in some cases. Love yourself enough to take care of you.

If your peroid was 2 weeks ago it is too early to worry about it. Wait another 2 weeks and don't worry yourself. Missed period is when and only when you should worry. If it doesn't come then go buy a home pregancy test. People here tell you to do it now - now it won't work, because even if woman gets pregnant her body isn't producing enough hormone after just 1 week of pregnancy to be registered by the pregnancy test.
Yeah, pulling out is not effective cause the sperm starts coming out by tiny drops before the ejacuation. Those drops are enough to get you pregnant. Buy some condoms and keep them around for case like this.

Dear Elanessea,

First thing today: go to the pharmacy and buy a predictor test! All it takes is your morning urine to do this test. It is easily done and all the instructions are in the box with it. These tests are very reliable nowadays.

Although what you describe sounds like ovulation pains to me, better take the test and be sure. By the way, your pain could also be caused by tension. You seem very worried about being pregnant, and these worries could be causing some stress, which might cause the cramp. This might seem strange to you, but it happens to many women that they literally feel the worries in their guts. So, just take the test if only to release yourself from the worries.

(As to Elisabeth: why judge Elanessea for having sex at 16? At least she'n on the pill, and at least she finds her way to ask for information. Sounds mature to me.)

The pain you're feeling may be you ovulating. Don't jump to conclusions until your period due date has come and gone. There are tests out there that can detect pregnancy as early as a week or more before your period is due. I personally don't think you're pregnant. Stay on those pills.

i highly doubt you are pregnant chances of you getting pregnant directly after your period and being on birth-control is slim to none and you had your period only 2weeks ago so you still have some weeks to go before your period comes again but let me just tell you that you should really use condoms due to the high risk of STDs trust that ill be the one to tell you that its no fun at all when your doctor says your positive for a disease and then asks you how you got it and who you got it from very bad experience...look this info up on the computer OK!! all of it...STDs,period cycles and when your most likely to get pregnant all that OK!! educate your self before the free clinic tells you your sick....

Pulling out is not effective. Go to a Target store and purchase a pregnancy tester for about $7.99 or go to a Doctor and get tested there. Good Luck ! :)

I DO BELIEVE THAT U ARE NOT PRG. BUT TO BE SURE, FROM MY PERSONAL AND EXP., U NEED TO BUY FROM PHARMACY PREG. TEST TUBE.
BUT I DO KNOW FOR 14 DAYS AFTER PERIOD, IT IS GOOD TIME FOR GETTING PREG. IF MAN'S CRYSTALS WATER IS PASSED TOTALLY TO YOUR INSIDE, BUT IF IT IS OUT SIDE OR IN A WAY NOT COMLETE ,THEN NOTHING TO BE WORRIED ABOUT, GOOD LUCK - HONNY
