and had a positive test on October 15th. However, I do not have any symptoms, I assume because it is very early on. I cannot use my last period as a factor, becuase I had just gone off the pill and my ovulation could have been delayed. Any ideas?

If the bleeding was indeed implantation bleeding, that would be about 5-7 days after ovulation/conception, and you are considered 2 weeks pregnant at ovulation (strange, I know), so you would be about 3 weeks pregnant around the 13th or 15th and about 4 weeks pregnant now. If you tell your doctor that you are not sure about the first day of the last menstrual period date because of your using the pill, his or her office can do an ultrasound to date the pregnancy around 6-8 weeks. Before that, it is difficult to see the baby, even on an ultrasound. The earlier you can get an ultrasound, the more accurately they can date the pregnancy and calculate your estimated due date. Congratulations!

I too have very odd cycles and thought when I got my first positive test that I was around five or six weeks pregnant. Too my dismay, I was only about three and when I had my first doc's appointment, nothing showed up on the ultrasound. Needless to say I was very disappointed but was told to return for a repeat u/s in three weeks. I went back and lo and behold there was my little bean! I measured 7 weeks and 1 day on that u/s.

You'll probably have to wait till you have your first u/s. If I go by my last period, my due date should be April 6th but according to the u/s and my doc, my due date is actually April 17th. If you have any idea what day you might have possibly ovulated, you could probably do a search for a due date calculator and make adjustments to the luteal phase and length of your cycle to get an estimated due date...

Your doctor will have to tell you if you can't go by the first day of your last period then is is to hard for anyone to know exactly how far along you are. If I were to guess I would say 4-5 weeks or so.
