he was beaten by Mark Henry a few months ago on smackdown and was picked up in a powerbomb position and was rammed into a pole and got a worlds strongest slam. he then started bleeding from the mouth very badly and was getting a head submission on the ropes so all in all he got pretty badly beaten

Like the undertaker, he has been in the business for so long, and has such a loyal fan base, Vince can afford to give him extended time off, bring him back later to a huge pop, and give him a solid push again.
Benoit is by far the best active wrestler/superstar in the business today, but in becoming so, he has sacrificed his body and needs time to recover.

he has been so badly injured over the years. He was having the same problem Angle was having, he goes into the ring and gives 115% and has just warn his body down so much because of that and his age so he needed the time off.

Thats because the last time he was in a match (it was w/ Mark Henry), he was brutalized, so he got a sabbatical.
