Help me please . . . my eleven year old sister wants this game. But it is rated teen. . . What is the reason for this rating? I read the little areas beneath the rating. Violence, sexual themes, and language(I think) Could you explain what these are pertaining too? Also, can it be played alone or do you need to have Sims? PLease let me know, and Thank you for all your help :)

I just got it for my 11yr old and it's not that bad. No worse then the other SIMS games. In this one all you do is create different type pets, dogs cats, birds and so on. All the sexually themes is in the main frame of the game. If you already have the SIMS 2 games the very first one is were all that is coming from. Where the couples make whoopee, as for the language there isn't really talking on there, it's more mumbo jumbo and you might see" #*@*" on the screen when they start a fight. Like in the college Sims game, sometimes the students will fight and beat each other up but when they stop fighting their not like bruised up or bleeding, they just walk off. My daughter really just likes creating the people and the houses, she does that more then plays the game. But I really don't think it's all that bad, at least no worse then any other game she could play.

Violence - They fight, but once they go at each other they are in a big grey dust cloud and walk away without a scratch on them.
Sexual Themes - They "Woohoo" in the bed, car, and hot tub but it is all sensored. They make out on the couch or bench and it sort of looks like they grab each other's butts, but if you look close they really aren't. Some of the outfits are a bit bare, but its not like they are wearing teddies or leather and have parts hanging out. When they take showers/baths they are blurred out.
Language - It's all gibberish, the worse, as someone else said is maybe a bubble with &*#@$ in it before they fight.

Make sure you purchase the original sims 2, everything else is an expansion pack, meaning they are just adding to the original game.

I have all the sims 2 games except for that one but in order for you to load it on your computer you will nedd the original sims 2, but back to your question. The sims only do what you make them do if you want your sims to have sex they will, it like your god and you can control the world, an you can make your dream house and family but with the pets expansion pack thats nothing major its just alot of pets and the reason it is rated teen is because its an expansion pack an the orignal sims 2 is rated teen.

voilence?! lol. the game is a life simulator and the little people you play dont even speak english but a made up language of gibberish. there is some sexual themes like when sims kiss each other and wohoo (Sex) but when they woohoo they censor it.

my sister is who younger than yours has sims 2, yes sims can be inappropiate but only if u know how (u can make two sims have sex)
