I use to throw up in my trashcan at work. My boss acted like I was doing it on purpose. Sheesh! The good news is that by the next baby I had things under control. Eat small frequent meals. People tend to get nauseated when they get hungry. I also found that protein staved off the nausea better than carbs. I would eat and eat and eat crackers and throw up and throw up and throw up, but if I did a spoonful of peanut butter I made it a lot further. I also had to stay away from acidic foods like orange juice. I lived on Tums, but I also found ginger to be a good remedy (fresh ginger, ginger ale, ginger snaps, and pumpkin cookies with ginger) to be good remedies. I showered with pepperiment bath gel and put on pepperiment lotion after my shower, because that smell was one that would not make me throw up. Stay away from spicy foods, too much sugar and too much salt. They can all be triggers. The good news is that it does not last forever, and even it persist threw the entire pregnancy it ends the moment you deliver, and you look into those beautiful baby eyes and forget all about the yacking times. It is worth it! Hang in there!

Congratz on becoming pregnant!
Don't even read the other posters or doctors or nurses or any others in healthcare field as well above or below here and their answers because they are definetly wrong for sure. The reason why is because medical birth hasn't been around since the beginning of time and has been here for since medival, spl times as I think. Personally, I'm not for this kind of birth, but when it is truly a medical necessary and not made up to medical necessary and scaring you and your family, friends, and etc. I know I haven't been pregnant or give birth yet, but that will happen in the future. Since ever subscribing to Mothering Magazines and like how I see things now from the past. Also, I volunteer in Maternity Department at the local hospital by me, so I see, and etc there as well. I recommed you don't show up for your the rest of doctor's appointments or don't consult the doctor or its office or the hospital either pre regisation or admission test or the section, and so on. Definetly don't listen to your dh or any of your family or friends or doctor or others . Definetly get a midwife that's isn't mainstream or stuff like that. Also, please try to breastfeed afterwards because it's it much more better then formula. Breastfeeding as around since the beginning of time and formula was introducted last half century so breastfeeding is way better then formula again. Also, do attactment parenting more then mainstream parenting because again it has been around since beginning of time and not like mainstream parenting when it has been around for at least a century now.
Think thats it and good luck with it.

herbs and extracts have not been studied enough for safety...I would recommend switching to a prenatal vitamin called Premesis. It helps curb the nausea. I would also invest in Sea Bands...you can buy them over the counter and you wear them on your wrist. It helps with sea sickness and definitely morning sickness. I have tried them and they are great. They contain no medicine. All they do is put pressure on a point on you wrist where it is believed that the stimulus to initiate nausea to your brain stems from. Also throwing a few preggie pops or hard candy in your purse isn't a bad idea. Good luck and congrats!

hmmm. Try room temp water and don't try to eat a meal. Just keep food around and snack all day. Make it kind of a habit so you don't have to think about it. If that doesn't work then yes, talk to your doctor. They can give you something to help with the nasuea. Just remember that it won't last forever! Good luck and congratulations!!!

I found that choking something small down like 1 cracker, and waiting a few minutes made me feel much better and was able to eat more. From what I understand, having an empty stomach will make you just as sick as having a full one.

The smell of ginger and/or sipping on Ginger Ale always worked for me during both of my pregnancies.
