candles have a variety of uses besides the obvious light different smells of the candles are used for aromatherapy lots of them have realxing qualities , some are for spirtual power, mind cleansing ,balance, differnt cultures use them in different religous acts or occult practices ( i am not familiar about those ones ) .i know in olden days they lit a candle in the window for their loved ones to arrive home safely they do it now for soldiers.if you are into witch craft you can use candles in your spells certain candles have certain power or mean certain things just like crystals.i aint gonna go into a lot of detail cuz i dont know all abot it i jsut know some things ilisted a site u can try to answer more on ur question

There are a wide variety of crafting uses that I know of. There's Ukranian egg decorating where they use a tiny funnel to draw lines with wax on a white egg then dye it a color, and the wax keeps the dye from getting to the egg leaving it white in that place. They use pure beeswax candles for that one, and the candle form creates a perfect continuous reservoir of hot beeswax for dipping.

At one point in time they used to used to produce a wax seal on messages if tack wax was unavailable.
And of course the number one thing. Gifts for women. Of all the women I've known, all have boxes of pretty, smelly candles that have never been lit. Think of it as a rose that doesn't die.
